The best portable jukebox in its price range.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Creative Labs NOMAD Jukebox 2 10 GB MP3 Player (Electronics)
The Nomad Jukebox 2 is a great MP3 jukebox that has a whopping 10 gb of memory and is packed with features. While it has a few shortcomings when compared to the Nomad Jukebox 3, the Nomad Jukebox 2 holds its own because of the huge amount of storage. Unless you have thousands of high bitrate songs, you can probably put your whole MP3 collection onto the player and still have space left over. The battery life is 16 hours, a huge improvement over the original jukeboxes 6 hours. The Nomad Jukebox 2 is lightweight and portable, but the IPOD is the way to go if you are looking for an ultra-compact MP3 Jukebox. I have had a great time using this MP3 player and taking my music collection with me wherever I go. If you can overlook its minor flaws, you'll get a lot of bang for your buck at 200 dollars. Customer support is also great too!

I received the Nomad Jukebox 2 for Christmas, and I really like it. I want to say that I love it, but I just can't give it that high of a recommendation. Don't get me wrong, this is an exceptional piece of hardware, and for under $200 it is a great value. The plug & play makes it very easy to get started, but the "extra" software that installs with it is a bit of a pain. The interface software is comprehensive and easy to use, though it can be a little confusing at times, since it is made to support three different players. If you are looking for a small player to handle your MP3's then this is definitely not the one to buy. However, if you are looking for a sturdy player with a large capacity then this could be the one for you. Here are the Pro's & Con's as I see them:Pro's: Con's: Overall this is a very good MP3 player, and I have no problem recommending it to anyone. If you don't mind a larger player, then this is the one for you. For the money it is a better value than the Jukebox 3. If you are looking for something to carry with you while you work out or run, then you should definitely look for something else along the lines of an IPOD.

This is the best mp3 player you will find for this price. I spent quite a deal of time researching for mp3 players for [a certain amount], and this is the one that can hold the most songs and has the best features for [the money]. The backlight display really helps when searching through songs at night. However, the battery life isn't 16 hours as advertised. It's more like 10- which is still good for a player with this much capcity.

Great Player for the price.,

I bought this mp3 player because i needed something mighty. I needed something to store all my music. And this little monster did it all. It is a bit big. But that's about it. If you think that the battery lifes is not what it should and you want longer battery life, turn the backlight off. It's easily made in the menu. Then your batterylife lasts longer. I have no problems with this one. Just this: If you connect your player to your computer and you notice that the battery life decreases in very short time, do this: Take Out the Battery and shut the hatch. Now connect the powercable to your player and it should go on automaticly. You will then notice that a different icon appears on the left of the down of the screen. That's the icon for telling you the player runs from the power from the wall socket. Then plug it in to the computer and no battery life will be taken. Very Good player !!!

Best of the bunch,

I bought my NOMAD almost 2 years ago and it's performed flawlessly. It holds my entire 300 CD collection. The software that comes with it is much easier to use then any of the Rio/Music Match products. My brother, a computer moron, has picked up and used this with no problems. Therefore, anyone should be able to use it. The only feature that I would like to see is a shuffle/random play function. But overall, this is a great product.

well, i bouught this mp3 player after getting my first paycheck and i really like it. the battery included can last up to a week on one charge with me using it about 2 hours a day. it sounds great and can get to about volume 20 of 25 before it gets distorted a bit. i bought some new philips headphones (some monsters HP170's i believe...check em out) and it sounds super with them. it could also be one of the most well built machines too. i have dropped mine 1......2...3...4... probably 5 times on asphalt and minus the small injuries it received on the sides it is still working like it did the first day i got it. it didnt fall apart like most others would. one thing i should mention. my friend bought the same player and when you first open the box, follow the directions. if it tells you to charge the battery for 4 hours, charge it for 5 to be safe. he only charged it for something like 2 1/2 hours, and the battery lasts maybe half as long as mine. this is not a small player. it is about the size of a standard portable cd player, so it is a bit large. however, due to its cool "smooth triangular" design, it slips into my pocket very easily, getting it out is another story. if you are planning on buying an mp3 player and impress people with out telling them it is and np3 player, they will think it is a cd player until they watch you mess around with it. it is a very cool machine. not an ipod, but definetely a classic creative product. do buy.

Being an owner of the original Nomad Jukebox, I immediately fell in love with this unit. This is not as bulky as the Nomad Jukebox 3 or the original. I also own a Zen and keep this unit in the car. Works great and sounds great in the car too!

I must admit, the price was right when I purchased this unit...but there are a couple of features that I think could be better designed. For one, the unit looks a little too mcuh like a standard CD player. One of the things that's suppose to make the jukeboxes stand out is there unique design and this one doesn't deliver. However, my main beef is that you can not use the "shuffle" feature in individual play lists that you set up. The only way to use the shuffle feature is to allow the jukebox to go into the "all music" mode. I have several playlist that I like to listen to but I also like to mix them up a bit while they're playing. This unit does not allow you to do that.

I highly highly reccomend the nomad Jukebox 2 for the music lover. 10 gigabytes of music storage is way over plenty of room. I have not even filled up half of my nomad and i have put on about 60 albums. For those who have a bigger cd collection than about 100 to 125 i reccomend the nomad jukebox 3, also jsut as useful and as worth yuor money as this one but that holds twice as much music.. I GIVE THIS 6 Stars... be careful with it its not ment to be dropped
