Creative's leather case for the new Creative Zen player is a good overall design that will appeal to many who have come to demand leather cases.

The size of this case is listed at 1X1X1, but it will feel a little bit thicker than 1 inches with your player inside. With the case closed, the player is tightly protected.

Inside, there are 2 slots for extra SD cards. The case pouch has a clear viewing window through which you can see and control your player. This pouch will not prevent dust or dirt from getting on your player so you will still have to clean it. Since the open window does not protect your screen, you will probably want to use a clear protector for extra protection. Creative really should have included a clear protective window here.

The magnetic lid is nice and secure when closed. When open it doubles as a kick stand for video viewing.

The main drawbacks to this case are the thickness and the natural play in the leather. That means the player can come loose if the case is open in the wrong situation, such as while viewing a video on a plane. Add to that the lack of screen protection when open.

If you must have leather, this may be the way to go. Otherwise, the acrylic and silicon options deserve consideration.

This item is well made of quality leather, but the only purpose that it will serve is for protection only. It does have the ability to be attached to a belt or similar item, but if you want it to stand up like the picture depicts - forget it!
The design is poor. When you try to use it as a stand it just falls down and lies flat. It also inhibits access to the controls.
Another issue of poor design are the two slots for SD cards. If you put
any cards in the slots they will scratch the screen when the case is closed.
The controls, (key pad) scratch very easily. After only 5 days of trying to be careful there are many small scratches.

I would have given it one star - but I guess it gets two because it is *slightly* better than nothing. Feels like cheap thin plastic stretched over cardboard. And why does it have an annoying red trim (not really visible in the picture)? This is one of those things that if you had held it in your hand first, you never would have ordered it - especially for $25!

This is a nice case that adds to the sleek look of the Zen, but it does not come with a plastic cover to protect the screen from scratches and finger prints. You will have to purchase additional screen protection. So the 24.99 price seems a bit extreme. If I had known this at the time I would have gone with the rubber skin case instead. Total money spent to protect my MP3-- 33.00.

I bought this for my daughters Zen she got for Christmas. She loves the case and has told me many times how impressed she is with the case. It has held up very well for a case that is thrown into her backback daily with books, etc and has protected the Zen quite well. The flip over ability to sit and watch video is something I know she loves as well.

I'm really glad I got this case to go with my Creative Zen. I carry my Zen in a backpack a lot, and it works great to wrap the headphone wires around the case and under the little snapping flap on the back. No more taggled wires!!!!

I couldn't figure out the type of case to get for my Zen. My wife has a Zen with the hard plastic case and ring which works great for her because she uses it at the gym. I wanted all my music in my car & office. This case was perfect. Not shown in the picture is the belt clip on the back of the case. At first I thought I'd cut that off because I didn't need it and like things compact but then realised that if you unsnap the belt clip it acts like an additional leg and the player stands up perfectly. Now in my car or office the player stands - easy to read. Love the good quality leather and having this soft padding around the player.
I did buy seperately the plastic lens cover which I also recomend (it is only a few dollars through Amazon and better safe then sorry). I am very pleased with the look & feel of this case.

For the way I use and transport my Zen, this case will work quite well. I transport it in a coat pocket and it pretty much sits on my desk at work or on a shelf in my car when I'm playing it.

However, if you are fairly rough with your Zen and throw it in a back pack with keys and change and who knows what else, this may not give you the protection you need. The magnetic catch is a bit weak and I could see it coming open in a back pack.

I like the look and feel of the leather, but, IMO, the red trim and stiching is a bit tacky. Most pictures on the web of this product don't show the red trim very much. I would prefer all black.

The control buttons are still very accessible once the unit is in the case. And the SD card slot, headphone jack, on/off switch are all open and accessible.

You will not be able to fold the flap back and stand the unit up by itself as shown in the picture. The flap just slides down and will not keep the zen propped up unless you put something behind it.

My last complaint is the clip on the back. I'm not quite sure what to make of this. It's too small to clip over the average belt. I'm not sure how you would ever use it. But it's permanently attached to the back of the case. So, when the case is flat on it's back on my desk it's resting on this clip. It doesn't lie perfectly flat. Really just a very minor problem, but it would be better if this clip wasn't there at all.

For as much complaining as I did you would think I didn't like this product, but I do like it. The complaints are minor and I can certainly live with them. As I mentioned above, the case will work very well for the way I use my Zen. I just wanted potential buyers to be aware of the short comings as I see them.

This is good case to have for the Zen. Don't forget to buy the protective plastice for the screen because this one doesn't have one. You can get them at office stores or Target. It has good access to the on/off buttons w/o opening the case.

This case is made of nice soft leather, that protects the ZEN well. It is a good fit with cutouts for the connectors and the slide switch, and the buttons are still easy to navigate. I haven't had any cards in the pockets as I suspect that they will just make marks on the front of the ZEN. The case does not protect the front, so I have bought the clear plastic protection. It does not easily stand for video viewing as the pictures show, it tends to fall down flat. Overall a good well made case, that is worth the price.
