Very Motivating!! A best seller -in my opinion.,

I just finished reading this book and must say that it is wonderful. There are numerous ideas for getting organized, finding the time and finding the inspiration. So many of us keep saying we need to do this and that but we never get around to it. You can take some of the ideas from this book and apply it to other aspects of your life as well. We all need some motivation now and then and this book provides it. I know that using the tips I found in this book I've been able to not only get motivated to work on my pictures (and journaling) again, but since I am accomplishing something with my pictures I get more energy to do other activities. From my standpoint this book is not some great big advertisement for Creative Memories - yes it probably will help spread their message of preserving photos, but they don't push on you to only use their products.

Inspiration to leave a legacy,
By
This review is from: The Creative Memories Way (Hardcover)
Though I have been making scrapbook photo albums the Creative Memories Way for about five years I was really inspired by this book to leave a written/photographic legacy for my family. From the examples given by the authors and other contributors I gained a new insight into what to say along with the photos to truely tell the story connected to them. If you want to leave a written legacy that will be treasured or want to share your life in photos try putting them together in keepsake albums and your family will cherish them for generations.

A Book That Makes A Difference!,
By
This review is from: The Creative Memories Way (Hardcover)
My regret? That I let this book sit on my shelf after purchasing it. The Creative Memories Way is a book everyone with a story to tell should read. I found it inspirational as well as a book that evoked laughter, tears and reflection. My original expectation was that it would be more of a 'How to Scrapbook' read, but instead I found it a challenge to change a 'scrapbooking' mindset to one of 'album making.' One of many useful selections in this book is about writing a 'bio-poem' that is an innovative way to journal to a family member or loved one. I enjoyed reading The CM Way from cover to cover. It's a book that can make a positive impact in lives and one I hope many will choose to read.

Very inspiring. I am a Creative Memories Consultant and LOVE all the products, but his book is NOT about selling the products. It's about family and journaling your and their life. This is for anyone the "scrapbooks" and for EVERYONE that doesn't. If you don't already, you will after reading this book. And if you already do...this will inspire you to journal EVERYTHING and show your family just how very important they are.If family is important to you, this is definetly a book for you. Well worth it. It's priceless.

Validating my addiction,

I had been scrapping for a little less than 5 years when I bought this book. I never could put into words why it was so important to me. This book says it all. It helped me to see that my efforts weren't futile. My mother, who doesn't scrap, read this book and said that it is an inspiration for everyone. A must read for all scrapbookers and family historians.

An inspiring message for scrapbookers of all levels!,

This review is from: The Creative Memories Way (Hardcover)
I have preserved pictures and memories for over 20 years but still found MANY new ideas and lots of inspiration to keep the tradition going. The writer and CM Co-founders do an excellent job of touching on ideas for a wide variety of readers. They share the WHY of scrapbooking for everyone - not just for moms with new babies! Whether you are a seasoned scrapbooker or someone with piles of photos screaming to be cared for this book is a MUST READ!

Very inspiring!,

I am a CM consultant who doesn't have much time to scrap due to 2 little ones running around, but when I opened this book, I felt very, VERY guilty about not scrapping more! If I were to die tomorrow, would my albums show my children and husband how much I loved them? I like to think so, but this book truly inspired me to try to find, no, MAKE more time to work on my own albums.

Where are your precious pictures and memories? Please read!,

Since I was a child, I've ADORED taking pictures of my family, friends, pets, ect. and spent tons of money on cameras, film, developing, and magnetic photo albums. My pictures are one of my most treasured possesions and after my family, the possesion I would save first in a disaster. I thought in the meantime my investment would be safe in the magnetic photo albums I bought and received as gifts. But then I heard about a wonderful company called Creative Memories from a friend and Consultant Priscilla, had a CM party, and learned the truth: how magnetic photo albums and certain materials were harmful to my precious pictures and destroying the one of a kind memories that I wished so much to preserve. I learned about Creative Memories line of quality acid free and photo safe scrapbooks and other products, how they would keep my precious pictures and memories safe, and preserve them for future generations. Most of all, I learned that making scrapbooks with Creative Memories was fun, brought families closer, and by sticking to their "simple pages" philosophy I could get an album completed quickly. This was very important to me, because I take a LOT of pictures, and have 35+ years of precious pictures and memories to get into CM albums.I think it's most important to realize that yes, you can get your pictures into CM albums if you stick to the "simple pages" philosophy. What's more important? Having an highly decorated scrapbook page that prehaps you can win a contest in one of those popular scrapbook magazines? Or getting your precious pictures and thoughts into acid free and photo safe scrapbook albums NOW for your family to enjoy knowing you are preserving you and your family's legacy for generations to come? If something should happen to you, do you really think your family and friends will open those albums because of all the fancy decorations on the scrapbook page you created? Or turn to those albums you so lovingly created to remember you, your loved ones, learn what was most important to you by looking at the pictures you always insisted on taking at family gatherings, and be able to read your thoughts in your own handwriting? The answer: your pictures and thoughts in your own handwriting of course!! And, I will say it again: if you take a LOT of pictures like me and stick to Creative Memories "simple pages" philosophy (just your photos, words, and maybe a few enhancements on your scrapbook pages), you really will be able to get your pictures into albums faster, be able to complete more albums, you won't feel overwhelmed, and you will have a peace of mind that you are preserving your family legacy. If you would like to learn more about Creative Memories, it's history, why "simple pages" are best, why it's important to preserve our pictures and memories into photo safe scrapbook albums, how creating Creative Memories albums together can bring your family closer together, ideas how to get the whole family involved in creating albums, different ideas for album projects, how to find a Creative Memories consultant in your area, and so much more. I encourage every family to purchase this book, read it, and discover why it's so important to start NOW to perserve your precious pictures and memories in photo safe albums. Your family, friends, and future generations will thank you. Isn't your family worth it? I believe so!

Beyond the perfect page,

So many scrapbookers are so focused on making their pages as pretty as possible that they lose sight of why even create albums in the first place. This book is a short but entertaining and absorbing read that brings us back to the importance of preserving our legacies.
