This book has it all! Two monthly calendar theme choices for all twelve months of the year. Each calendar theme includes literature connections, calendar based math lessons, calendar art, poetry, patterns and FUN! I like this book because the lessons are scaffolded so they are applicable to any primary grade. There are many calendar options available to choose from and photos of each completed calendar activity. This book is very easy to use and makes teaching calendar skills easy and exciting.

As a kindergarten teacher I get bored throughout the school year teaching calendar. Routine is great for the kids, and there are ways you can "spice it up", but for the most part I start to dread Calendar after awhile. Since purchasing this book I start each month with a calendar project, and my students LOVE IT! At the beginning of the year I send home a letter to the parents telling them all of the different activities they can do with their calendar at home to help reinforce the concepts they're learning in school. The kids love it, the parents love it, and I love it because it breaks up my routine! Each month you have two choices that are thematic based, include a poem, and suggestions for introducing. This is money well spent!
