Color Name: Beau
The CND Shellac products are amazing! The Beau color coat is the perfect clear coat for a French manicure. It is a clear coat with a barely noticeable pink tint to it. It also has just the right amount of shimmer in the sunlight, but is not sparkly. This is exactly what I wanted for my French Mani. I will warn you that if you are looking for a solid light pink color this is not for you. The colors of the shellac bottles are a little misleading since they have to block out all UV light.
I recenly bought the base and top coats, beau and studio white to do my French manicures at home. I also purchased a french manicure brush, 99% rubbing alcohol ( to remove the tackiness once you are finished- I could only find this online) and a UV curing light to properly "dry" the polish ( make sure to buy a 36 watt UV light or it will not cure properly- I bought the thermal spa brand and it works great).
If anyone is curious, here's how I now do my manicure:
*prepare nails by cleaning up the cuticles and pushing them back; file nails to desired shape. Make sure to do a dry manicure. Soaking them in water will interfere with the adherence of the shellac. Also, do not apply lotions or cuticle oil until the last step.
*apply base coat and cure for 10 seconds
*apply beau to entire nail and cure for 2 minutes
*apply studio white to tips of nails and use the manicure brush dipped in the rubbing alcohol to make the "smile line" then cure for 2 minutes. If you apply this correctly you will only have to do one layer of white.
*apply top coat to entire nail and cure for 3 minutes. ( the CND instructions say to cure for 2 minutes, but I have found that 3 gives
me longer lasting results.

This and Negligee are the only 2 transparent Shellac colors I've found and I love them both! They are fantastic for a french manicure or alone for a very natural look. Beau is slightly more pink and Negligee is a little more white.

Color Name: Cocoa Verified Purchase
Accept no substitute, Shellac is the best in this biz... Cocoa is my third color of CND Shellac and I couldn't be more pleased. I use a popular search engine to see a color on the hands of real women that they themselves have taken and posted online. I knew this color would be lovely with the summer version of my otherwise pale skin (read: tan). The color is the loveliest light brown nude shade. Not too pink, not too coral, and yet not too brown. It's so classy and looks amazing with a (fake) tan and gold jewelry. As timeless and classy as it is, it also manages to *not* be your grandmother's super safe nail color. There is a definite sense of elegance and modernity.

Color Name: Studio White Verified Purchase
I just recently starting using soak off gel polishes at home and Shellac is my favorite brand because of ease of use. The color range is improving, so that's a plus. I'm so excited they are starting to expand their range of nudes and basic colors. This is the perfect American manicure color (a more natural version of the French.) I don't care for harsh white tips, so I was elated when I got this in the mail and it went on a beautiful off-white, which could have been perfect with just one coat. Opaque enough to not streak, but I still applied two coats. It is gorgeous! I'm addicted to these products!

Color Name: Hollywood Verified Purchase
I have started a small collection of gel polishes because it is MUCH more affordable to do this at home than going to a salon. I bought Hollywood for a spicy color when I wasn't in the mood for something understated. I love it. It's a perfect red, not orangy, and it has teeny subtle sparkles. The color itself is not subtle. It's 'Wow, that's the prettiest red polish ever!' My coworkers have loved it and even asked me to do their nails on lunch break (which I have).
Besides being a splash of color for my nails, I found that you can also layer it under other color for great effects. You can even layer under different brands. I started out using CND gel polish but also have purchased Gelish brand polishes. It looks especially nice layered with Gelish 'June Bride.'
I'm not a nail technician and I feel this is something anyone can do. Go for it!

Color Name: Beau
This is my second time using Shellac polish. This color would be the preferred one out of the two I have tried. It is exactly what I was looking for in a polish and color. It is a transparent light "natural" pink color with slight purple sparkles in direct light. For the very clean, manicured, natural nail look. It may also look nice with white tips. I used this Shellac polish (two coats) with the Gelish top and bottom coat. Stayed on like a charm.'

Color Name: Decadence
I love this color. It is not a purple-tinged color like the bottle suggests. I've noticed a lot of shellac colors don't match their bottles. This color is a medium-red. The best way I can describe it is Christmas red. There is no glitter-sparkle type look like I've heard some of the shellac colors have.

I am very happy with the gel nail color system. It really does last a long time. When it starts to come off (after about two weeks), it lifts up and breaks off in a chunk. It needs to be removed by soaking for 10 minutes in acetone, which makes my cuticles itch and really dries my skin. But I put on cuticle oil right away and moisturize with a heavy cream, and my nails are good as new after about a half hour. They don't feel weak and brittle. On the other hand, I've never been able to keep my nails very long before shellac. They would easily break. Now the nail gel protects them and for the first time ever I have great nails.

I'm hooked on shellac and will never go back to regular nail polish!
