Of course, if you do have a computer you can transfer audio and data files in seconds with "drag-and-drop" ease -- and without software -- using the player's USB 2.0 connection. Meanwhile, the Auto Synchronization feature makes it easy to transfer your favorite songs and albums from CDs through the line-in port. Battery life is outstanding, allowing you to listen to music for up to 18 hours on a single AAA battery. Now you can keep the tunes rolling all day long, and do it in style, as the Zen Nano plus comes in ten fun, vibrant colors. The 512 MB model's flash memory can store up to 250 songs (WMA-encoding, 64 kbps).
The FM tuner lets you tune 32 stations. As mentioned, you can also record FM radio so you can catch your favorite tunes or talk shows later on. The built in microphone lets you record voice conversations -- great for those long lectures at school. You can also use the Nano Plus as a portable mini hard drive, allowing you to store data files such as photos and presentations. The unit's LCD is even reversible for left or right handed operation. Last but not least, the Zen Nano sports equalizer presets (Classical, Jazz, Pop, Rock) that make your music sound better.
What's in the Box
Zen Nano Plus, high quality earphones, AAA Battery, USB 2.0 Cable, line-in cable, quick start booklet, installation CD and neck strap.

this was the first Creative player i ever bought a year ago and it's still going strong! i love it! it does everything! voice record, line-in recording, radio, radio recording and it runs on a AAA battery! i use recharable batteries and i can listen to this player over 16 hours on one battery! no need to worry about recharging with a computer or wall outlet. and it is so small and light, but yet i can blast tunes out of this thing. i am still amazed on how this tiny thing can pack such a punch! it also includes the case with armband, software and earphones. i have about 230 songs on it and i highly recommend it to anyone who wants a small player that is affordable, easy to use and does it all.

Works fine as a flash drive. I download podcasts (mp3s) then copy them over to the Zen Nano in Windows Explorer. As I listen to them I delete them. Also stores a couple dozen tracks of songs for when I get bored with the podcasts.
+It uses up my pair of rechargeable triple A's in a week of listening. Alkalines would probably last longer. (turn off the back light, reduce the auto-off time) +It remembers where you were in the podcast when you turn it back on. +Fast Forward has a progressive speed increase. The longer you hold it down the faster it goes which is just what you need if you want to queue up the last 15 minutes of an hour long show. +works with Windows 98! +custom equalizer Cons: -The voice record takes so many steps to use that it's not really worth using. -I once bounced the battery out of contact and had to re-queue my podcast.

I purchased this for my 8 yr old grandson. I knew very little about MP3 players to begin with, but with many hours of Internet research, and picking the brain of a patient young employee at our local Staples store, I learned a lot. First, that I needed one that would be compatible with my older Win2000 computer. This little gizmo came with everything: USB connecting cord (but the one for my digi camera works with it.), a neck strap, earbuds with decent sound quality- but are a bit too big for the boy and keep popping out of his ears- need to find something more his size; and a software CD and manual. It even came with a relatively fresh battery included! My grandson had it figured out before I got to page 6 in the manual. I installed the software, and were quickly on our way to ripping his music onto it. Piece of cake! The product package said it required USB 2.0, and I only have 1.1 on my computer. I bought a 2.0 card for my computer, but the 1.1 works just fine with the device. Someday after the holiday hoopla I'll swap out the USB cards and update that for faster transfer, but until then it has worked great. Last night I transferred 6 albums of his music collection to his player while I was checking my email and catching up on the news online. So even tho it's only a 512mb, it holds a lot of songs for a little guy. When he's a little older and more careful with these sort of delicate things, I'll consider getting him a player with bigger storage. Until then, he loves this little gadget, and I'm pleased with the simplicity of the software. I am going to show him how to load his own music now that I have it figured out.
