Very Disappointed, September 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Creative Negotiating: Proven Techniques for Getting What You Want from Any Negotiation (Paperback)
The cover promises "proven techniques", yet I didn't find much in the way of techniques here. The "Columbus Technique" is inspired by Christopher's negotiations with Queen Isabella, yet these are not described, except that they were long. The book's organization is difficult to follow. Much of "agreement phase" chapter contained material that seems better placed in the "bargaining phase" chapter. The chapter on creativity contained topics like "why negotiate?" He goes on for several pages on CNN's great negotiating coup enabling them to cover the Gulf War, yet nothing about those negotiations are revealed. He refers to Ted Turner as Robert Turner. The good news: you won't waste much time on this book; between the many large cartoons and the frequent repetition, actual content can be read quickly.

Content in book does not live up to title of book., June 20, 2007
This review is from: Creative Negotiating: Proven Techniques for Getting What You Want from Any Negotiation (Paperback)
Prepare, Prepare, Prepare is the theme of this book and one of the underlying disciplines of negotiations.
Author Stephen Kozicki's real-world examples and affiliations with major corporations and governments validates his proficiency in domestic and international trade and negotiations.
Mature effort by Stephen Kozicki on the subject, although in my judgment I don't think this piece manifest itself as one of his best yet. I will have to float this one to the next person. No need to make space for this one on the bookshelf.

A Must Read For Anyone and Everyone in Business Today!, January 8, 2001
This review is from: Creative Negotiating: Proven Techniques for Getting What You Want from Any Negotiation (Paperback)
Kozicki's book provides deep insights into the art of negotiations that goes well beyond any book on the subject to date. Of the many gems in this book, are the processes that the author provides that are a result of years of practical experience on the subject. Further, the clear and succinct writing style enables the reader to easily internalize the knowledge and skills necessary to become a master negotiator even in today's highly competitive environment. I only wish that I had this book years ago when I began my business career. A must read for anyone and everyone in business today. Don't even think of negotiating your next deal without first reading this book!
