i'm new to paper cutting, i've ordered quite a few books on this subject lately, but this is certainly one of the best, clear easy directions, beautiful projects made from paper, anyone can do this if they put a little time into it, and its cheap craft, but the final results are beautiful. highly recommend this book.

This is quite a fun book although a bit repetitive and not many techniques are taught. Apart from instructions on techniques, there are also pages devoted to projects and paper cut ideas from different artists. Many of the designs are easy to execute, so the book can be used for crafting with children as well. There are some more difficult projects like landscapes and scenes with people figures.

As with most Japanese craft books (this is a translation of a Japanese book), Creative Paper Cutting is very beautifully photographed and presented. There are clear instructions on the different ways of folding paper for cutting and all you need to do to make the various patterns is to trace or copy them from the book.

Of the artists featured, I especially enjoyed the works of Keiko Tsuji. It's pretty amazing how she manages to cut (without patterns) in just the right places from scraps of printed paper and shopping bags to give her paper figures hair, socks, shoes and clothes without any additional drawing.

This book is both eye candy and useful tutor. A lot of crafts books are either ugly and useful, or pretty but lack directions to create the projects. This book has both, and it's easy to get started - you need scissors and paper, that's it. A clever part of the book shows you how to use candy wrappers and shopping bags for free paper and inspiration. This book is great fun to work out of. It gives you a good launching point for experimentation, as well as many different projects to do as-is.

Love it love it love it.
Unlike other crafts that take a lot of time, paper cutting is quick and fun and results are fairly immediate. Anyway, I feel very artsy and crafty and I am proud of my creations. Beautiful book with great directions. Highly recommend!

I purchased this book from its front cover. This was a mistake as the cut out on the front cover is the most complicated in the book. The remaining cut outs are on the whole simplistic.
On the positive side the illustrations and instructions are clear. I would recommend this book for a primary school library or for a crafty child aged under 10.

This book is modern, well presented and makes you want to get in and start cutting. I have tried many of the projects already! Although my cutting is a little rough,i have still had some exciting results. Each page is clearly set out and easy to read.I have also tried to do some of my own designs following the instructions on how to fold the paper for differant desings. I am an obsessive crafter and buy many books from amazon, highly recommended by me..

Great stepping off designs are presented in this book. It was geared, it appears, to the home made card set - but the projects were intricate enough to warrant more attention. It is good for beginners who are looking for a more sophisticate art of cutting paper and the ideas in the book lend themselves easily to those who would combine calligraphy with the art of cut paper for weddings and announcements.
