WOW. I thought I knew what to expect with my child's development, but this book showed me the WHY and HOW each step happens and builds on previous skills. Not only are there charts of abilities and lists of milestones for different ages [to satisfy my scientific side], there are TONS of activities and crafts to do to encourage different aspects of creative thinking and expression. I love to do art projects with our 2yo and have read many crafting books for children, but if I had to choose one book to hang onto, this would be it. It will be useful for the next 3 years, and possibly longer. I appreciate the reminders to not force the child. The author also lists phrases to avoid [things I just took for granted] and better choices when communicating... I feel I can better support and encourage our child's natural development. It is a quick read, but chock-full of detailed information-very concise. Even the hubby is giving it a read!
