The quality of the book is very impressive. 400 small quilts reproduced with comments by the makers. If you are interested in what's going on in art, and/or quiltmaking, you will enjoy having this book. I am a biased reviewer - I am proud to say I have a Journal Quilt in the book. The process of using art to keep a journal was a freeing experience. I think the book will inspire others to start their own small projects, or just be a great book to page through and enjoy.

This beautiful book is filled with more than 400 color photos of small quilts. Each photograph includes a descriptive blurb by the quilt artist. Many of the quilts will beckon you to closely inspect the techniques used, and with the high quality photography, this is easily accomplished. For those who have not seen the Journal Quilt Project mounted, this book is an excellent substitute.

Overall, the Creative Quilting book is exceptional, a "coffee table book" -- not the type of book to merely thumb through and shelve in your quilt library. Creative Quilting is one of the best quilting books I have ever viewed, reviewed, or owned. The "Five stars" rating simply does not do justice to this publication.

This is one inspiring and creative book for sure! It took me more then 3 evenings to look at and read each and every one of these awesome journal quilts. To be able to see so many different techniques was a joy! This is worth every penny just to keep in your quilting library! You'll reference it time and again!

This book is a treasure trove of inspiration for art quilters...hundreds of detailed photographs. Whether you make journal quilts or full size versions, the wide array of subject matter and techniques used will assist in your design process. Terrific quality photos and documentation. Well worth the price.

I have a lot - and I mean a lot - of quilting books, and this is one of most inspiring books I have seen. The quilts are all small and very interesting. Each one is accompanied by an explanation by the quilt's creator. It is sort of a whole new look at the possibilties of quiltmaking. My mind immediately started racing with ideas. Because the quilts are very small, they seem very do-able. This is not your average book with patterns, but instead it is a book of possibilites and inspiration.

After seeing the exhibit at The Chicago Quilt Show I had to have this book. It is extremely inspirational and I believe it will help anyone generate new ideas. Additionally, I enjoy reading all of the personal comments from the creator of each project- it is like reading someone's diary. And finally, it is a book that I find myself going back to again and again and it seems like a new book everytime. I cannot recommend this book enough.

Wonderful book. I immediately bought at least one more copy as a gift for a friend who's also getting into quilting. There were ideas for techniques and products for fabric art. The stories behind the quilt squares were very moving also.

Wonderful Book - full of ideas and inspriation for those in the quilting world as well as mixed media - Once I opened it - I could not put it down.

This is one of the best book I have ever purchased. It should have more than 5 stars. The pictures of the journal quilts are amazing. It is so much fun.

Ithoroughly enjoyed this book. Even bought one as a gift. At Houston there wasn't time to look at, read and enjoy the displayed quilts. They are wonderful and inspiring.
