5.0 out of 5 stars Buy them if you have tight budget
These are good speakers for the price. This time, I found the price on Amazon even less than Ebay. So, if you have tight budget like me, go for it. The competetion for me was between logitech R20 which are still cheaper. I am traditionally a logitech fan but i saw some bad comments on Amazon for R20 so I went with these.

1.0 out of 5 stars read the bad reviews--too much bass, tinny satellites, no power
I bought these speakers thinking that the bad reviews were probably just that--bad reviews. Unfortunately they turned out to be spot on. There is way too much muddy sounding bass produced by the subwoofer, and there is no way to reduce it except by using an equalizer such as through Itunes. And the satellite speakers, besides sounding tinny, produced very little sound...

I have a good home theater system and expensive Klipsch 2.1 speakers. These speakers are far less quality than them. But then I remember that I paid hundreds for them and these are less than $30.

The speaker clarity is acceptable. The Bass is little too hi than I require and there is no control for that. But there is a neat master switch and volume control on right speaker. My Klipsch speakers has master switch on the sub-woofer which makes it tough to operate. But, although cheap priced, creative has not made such dumb mistakes. The volume is good for a small room. If you are not a gamer or listen to music on your pc these speakers will serve you well. Note that I am using these speakers only 2 months and I hope they take me at least one more year.

Great speakers for the money. These speakers are way better than the entry level ones (with no sub) you have to pay $20.00 for when you buy a Dell. The sub gives a nice deep bass. Great volume for a P.C.. Volume & power control on speakers with headphone jack is a great feature and one of the main reasons I choose these. Nice looking also. Small compact speakers fit nicely anywhere and the sub is not to bulky and looks and sounds great sitting on, not under, my desk.

There is way too much muddy sounding bass produced by the subwoofer, and there is no way to reduce it except by using an equalizer such as through Itunes. And the satellite speakers, besides sounding tinny, produced very little sound. With everything turned to max that could be maxed, the volume was moderate--forget about cranking it up a bit for a song that you like. In this case you really do get what you pay for.

I was a bit worried about buying these speakers, but with the price and a [...] rebate, it brought down to [...] after rebate. I was happily surprised at their performance. My intended uses included simply listening to music, videos, and TV through my PC and these speakers perform well for that for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound, couldn't believe the price!, January 18, 2007

I got these speakers a month ago, and I can't believe how good they sound compared to what I paid for them.... I pay more for one meal at a restaurant.... it is not meant to shake the walls, but is perfect for a great sounding, personal speaker system, to listen to music while working.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality for the price, December 29, 2006

Both sub and speakers are very sturdy and sound good. The system won't blow you away (although the sub packs a good kick!), but its a must have for anyone not wanting to spend big $$$ to replace their basic speakers. Try messing around with an equalizer if you can to boost it a bit without causing distortion. Overall happy with this product.

*Update* Because my PC sound supports 4 channel audio, I bought a second set to use as rear speakers (unfortunately I can't use a 6 channel 5.1 setup, but I'm happy with this for now). Both sets combined provide plenty of power and give games and music an extra kick. I can now hear (and sometimes feel) anything exploding behind me. Works!

3.0 out of 5 stars SBS 380 2.1 speakers, April 13, 2007

delivered 4/12/2007, have a fairly good sound BUT. There appears to be a short or mis-connection to the right speaker unit. the wire does not plug in solidly and has no sound coming from the right speaker. There appears to be a positional problem with the power. You have to "move or wiggle" the cord for it to make electrical connection. The speakers were inexpensive but not worth the problems. I think there is a design or production flaw. Save your time don't order. You'll only have to replace.

4.0 out of 5 stars The dealio..., April 8, 2007

I would recommend these to anyone looking for some cheap PC speakers. The Bass on my set sounds perfectly matched to the volume, which can mean that any complaints are caused by flukes in the manufacturing of the speakers. If you are afraid of getting a defective set, buy them from walmart so you can easily return them. In fact, they were cheaper at walmart than online in my case. One final note: If you are looking to fill a large room with rich sound, or just be blown away by volume, these likely are not the speakers for you. For that I would recommend one of Logitech's 5.1 speaker combos.

When I purchased this system I had very low expectations about its performance based on the price.

However, I was pleasantly surprised by the silky bass this system pushes out.

The higher frequencies are somewhat muted, but overall a solid system.

The volume could be a tad more though, but adequate.

Great sound for the price, they won't shake the walls but by FAR the best sound quality in the under $40 price range.
