Comment: This book has already been loved by someone else. It MIGHT have some wear and tear on the edges, have some markings in it, or be an ex-library book. Over-all itâ?TMs still a good book at a great price! (if it is supposed to contain a CD or access code, that may be missing)

A concise overview written in an upbeat style by a knowledgeable author. There are lots of example images relevant to color specific issues as well as general photography techniques and tips that are as relevant in today's "digital era" as in the "film era" for which this book carries much content.
The book explains scientific, perceptual and psychological principles for better understanding of color techniques and aesthetics. This yields useful tips and insights for photographers wanting to create more effective color images. However, many details are described from a "film era" perspective regarding good color capture, color correction, film and processing that digital photographers will find less useful, although it does give insight into issues of working with color and appreciation for the requirements to produce good color using film.
Be aware that this book was written when Digital Photography was just beginning to gain greater popularity and more obtainable prices. The very brief "Digital Imaging" overview chapter is just that, so don't look for explanations for things like how to setup color control for capture or post processing of Digital SLR images. That's why the best I could give this review was only 4 stars for it's general practical relevance at this writing.
If you can pick up a used copy for a good price, I recommend this book to glean some of the authors insights, enthusiasm, explanations and tips regarding color photography that are still relevant to digital photographers.
