This mp3 player has some major issues. I have had to reset it on numerous occasions, for reasons that have so far escaped my feeble grasp. Moreover, the battery life is inadequate, barely acceptable. Either they should have used a bigger battery, or they should work on power conserving.

The quality of the music is fine - no problems there. The large screen is nice to use, though the resistive touchscreen requires more force than I like. On the other hand, the capacitive touchscreens are too sensitive, so there's no pleasing me in that regard.

Another problem is that the device lost my playlists. Since creating the playlists is a bit awkward and time-consuming, this was a serious annoyance. It's not the end of the world, but it's one more reason why it only gets three stars.

With just a little bit more work, this could have been an excellent product. I feel, however, that it falls short, and that it wasn't really worth the price I paid for it.

I was having second thoughts about purchasing this item after I read the reviews, but after thinking about it and remembering the other 2 devices I decided to give it a try. I'm glad of that decision, It's been almost 3 months since I purchased this item and only has frozen once when I try to install an app made for a zio device. There are many free apps on the page loaded in the browser, I'm currently studying engineering and there is even a free graphing calculator, nothing to professional but it helps. The sound is great with the earphones it came with zen, Also on my 5.1 system. The internet it's faster than alot of new phones. The camera is as good as any other on a phone. The video is way better.

It only have one down side, depending on what are you doing the rotative screen can go very slowly or even get stuck.
There are 16 gb on the device, but 4.4 gb are occupied by the software, with the apps and the update, there are 5 gb occupied, wich leave 11 gb free for all you want, it still takes time to use 11 gb.
The thing is I can't help thinking that the 8 gb version only has 3.6 gb of free space, wich I think it's too reduced.

Below I will list my pros/cons and my likes/dislikes

Pros/Likes:
~ Great picture quality. Not superb but pretty great... DISPLAY RATING 4/5

~ Good external speaker. I like the speakers. Better than my Samsung Galaxy Nexus' speakers BY FAR. Not sure they are better than an iPhone 4S/5S but certainly comparable... EXTERNAL AUDIO RATING 4/5

~ I like the fact that apps are available from online downloads using .apk files. I have a love hate relationship with apps on this device (which I will explain later)... APPS RATING 3/5 (even hesitant for that but I am in a generous mood)

~ Bluetooth. Nuff' said. Not any issues. Whatsoever easy to connect (simple wizard = easy access widget)... BLUETOOTH/PAIRING RATING 5/5

~ Love the button placement... BUTTON EFICIENCY 5/5
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Cons/Dislikes:
~ Locks and freezes a bit more then what I would preffer. I have read some terrifying horror stories online about this device. Let me put your mind at ease and tell you it is not that bad... (Whether it is awful or just once every 2 days it still is a nuisence) Also for the record there is a reset button made for when the device locks up. It is locted under the rubber flap covering the micro-sd card slot. LOCKING ISSUE RATING: 2.5/5

~ The Battery life on this MP4 player is far from good. I probably get 4 hours tops. While connected with bluetooth/wifi and light use 2.5. Heavy use without wifi/bluetooth 2.5, etc, etc. OVERALL BATTERY RATING... 2/5

~ Resistive touch screen. Only one pressure point will be recognized. Not as durable as capacitive. Harder pressure required to trigger a reaction.

This MP3 player was defenty worth it. I really enjoy this MP3 player. You can play video and tv shows and what not. You can also get android. the only thing that i can think of that is not good is that it ocassionaly freezes but you just have to press a little button to unfreeze it. But all in all it was worth the money.

Was very disappointed with this product. I bought it as a gift for my teenage daughter, whom takes pride and care of all her belongs. The system started to freeze up after two weeks we were able to reboot, but then a week following that it would shut down out of nowhere. We tried to seek assistance with no real solution. Then system was unable to hold any charge at all. Not much of a gift as a waste of money.

I didn't think that the bad reviews were that bad for this product, so I had to experience the device for myself, and for the most part I had a similar experience as some of the others who rated this device with anything lower than three stars, though it could be that I got a defective one out of the whole mass produced bunch, but I didn't feel like giving it a second chance. There is a lot I could complain about this device, it constantly freezes and doesn't have compatibility with Google Play. It has compatibility with the Amazon App store, but a lot of apps shown on the amazon website weren't available on the App Store app. The reset button broke after using it, I nearly depended on the reset button because the device froze a lot and having a flimsy reset button that broke after trying to press it with a paper clip made the device a hassle to have. I didn't mind the resistive touch screen but it made apps that require multi-touch useless which is what this device is designed for, listening to music and using apps for android to compete with apple's iPod touch. Other apps that were able to be installed onto the device like the Netflix app, would not work properly. The pre-installed music player on the device was laggy and made it hard to scroll though songs (though this was remedied by installing a different music player app). The battery didn't have a long life, whether it was just playing music or using apps. The device itself has potential but I think that it isn't worth the money, that's why the price has been low for what has almost been about 5 months. I would spend a little more money on the Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6, it's rated higher and has a lot more to offer than the Zen Touch 2 does like a; front facing camera, Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, Bluetooth 3.Read more ›
