Mark's insight as both a creative photographer and Photoshop trainer are very evident in this book. It's a "must have" for any professional wedding or portrait photographer or anyone that wants to "push the envelope" of creative album design. Why settle for ordinary when extraordinary is easily within reach?

Having seen Mark's work first hand gave me a much deeper appreciation for the thought that went into this book. Mark will teach you how to show off the best of your photographs with embellishments that will "WOW" your customers, friends and family. His techniques are direct and timeless. He also shows what pitfalls and common mistakes to avoid when designing an album. Something that will save the price of the book many times over!

Any book with the word "Creative" in the title should stimulate the readers' imagination so that the reader's own creative juices begin to flow. This book does a very good job of that. The author gets you thinking of what you need to do before shooting so that your creative process, when the shooting is over and the design begins, is fully supported by an array of excellent shots and some that need help. That help comes in the form of mastering Adobe Photoshop. The projects in the book go a long way towards mastering Photoshop techniques. Mastering the Photoshop techniques also helps the design process by enlarging the envelope of possibilities. The examples presented in this book push the envelope!

Whether you have an album design in mind before you shoot or you let your shots determine the eventual album design; the tips and techniques presented here will greatly assist you.

Mark Chen demonstrates an advanced masking technique that turns a bride and groom's holding hands image into the galactic background of an album page. This demo provides a glimpse into the artistic and teaching style of the author.

This book is more about outdated "bride and groom in the brandy glass" type of photoshop techniques than it is about album design. Total waste of money for me.

This book is fantastic for photographers that are stuck doing the same old thing over and over again. It really makes you think outside the box when photographing weddings and provides you great ideas on how to create very unique photos with Photoshop! There is nothing outdated in this book, it's all fresh ideas making you realize you can take your photos one step further by using his techniques. I love the way each project is explained in detail to follow along so it's great for Photoshop pros and newbies alike! Loved it and would highly recommend it!!

The best part of the purchase was it was delivered so quick. The delivery time aspect of Amazon is terrific. The price of the book was very reasonable.

Mark Chen's `Creative Wedding Album Design' is a great book for all wedding (and not only wedding) photographers, no matter what is their level of mastery. It offers a combination of rare insight and hands on experience on numerous creative Photoshop ideas by leading its reader step by step through original techniques developed by the author in his career as a photographer and Adobe Photoshop expert.

The book is divided into ten creative projects, which are packed with useful tips and ideas. Following the author's instructions increased my understanding on how to use adjustment layers and masks to refine images, how to master soft brush technique or implement subtle yet powerful enhancements - just to name a few. It also gave me an idea of what it takes to create original and stylish wedding album collages.

In general, the book enables readers with useful tools so that they can make the best of their images not only in postproduction but also in preproduction planning. It is an eye opening read and guide, easy enough to follow even for a Photoshop novice. Being a photographer myself I found the book extremely helpful and would recommend it to anyone who might want to make their work exceptional and artsy.

I find this book not to my expectation. I believe that this book is more to editing the wedding photos and not on creating a wedding album. I can find other books on photo editing. I don't find the title of this book relevant to creating an album.

This outstanding photography guide is a top pick for any photographer's reference collection, blending color photo examples throughout with fine discussions of professional techniques.

This book has paid for itself. I've enjoyed the step-by-step approach and plentiful number of screen shots to help out along the way. Mr. Chen clearly knows his stuff. There are so many different ways to accomplish the same task when using an application such as Photoshop. This book taught me new, more efficient ways to do some of the things I was already trying to accomplish in my own photography. These simple tasks have saved me time and we all know that time is MONEY!

However, I think the real value of this book is not to use the techniques DIRECTLY out of the book but take the skills and ideas taught and manipulate/customize them to further your own album creation. Some of the lessons have reinvigorated my own album design. Critical thinking required.
