I record all my class lectures because I don't have the time to study traditionally. I have the 1 gig version, but I absolutely adore this! I tried to buy a second one because it's so small and compact I occasionally misplace it. It's easy to backup onto my computer, and involved no additional software for my PC or Mac. The menu takes a little getting used to, but it works. It came with a rubber case and I have dropped it zillions of times with no damage whatsoever. I'd love for Creative to keep making these but with a bit more memory. The Muvo feels a bit more fragile, came without the case, and is bigger. I also swear it doesn't pick up the lectures as well from afar as this one does.

Excellent device. I have the 512mg and the 1gig. The controls are easy to access and learning to use them is a breeze. Plug into your Personal Confusor [er I mean Computer] then drag and drop audio files and you are done. No software to install - true ease of use. With our dependence on digital media at an all time high I find the 512mg very limited. Even the 1gig is easy to fill up and listen to all it holds in a short period of time. There are other Mp3 players on the market with 2, 4, 8, 16gig etc. to choose from. The 2gig players begin at about 40 bucks or so. So it is always a good idea to go with the largest capacity you can afford. The 512mg these days is just not up to the task in my opinion. These Creatives although small are certainly well built.
