I bought this toy for my Goddaughters, ages 9 and 7. It seemed pretty impressive with everything it contained. But, the loom broke immediately, we were never able to use it, and I believe the crochet hooks and knitting needles are way too small to learn on, especially for a child. I think you would be better off buying larger hooks and getting a beginner pattern. This just frustrated them and me.
