4.0 out of 5 stars We all have secret dreams & need to reach for the stars., August 14, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: 9 Creativity-Required Businesses You Can Start From Home: and How to Make Them Profitable Careers (Paperback)
The chapter on songwriting was reprinted in Contemporary Songwriter Magazine, which I publish. It described so well what I went through a few years ago, working in a factory and dreaming of writing songs. I received my copy of the book a few days ago and haven't been able to put it down. I've met so many people with secret dreams who really believed that they should push them aside and go every day to a job that they hate. Bill Watson knows this is a terrible idea, and he shows us how we can make our dreams a reality (and even make a living at them!) We all need this book. Buy it. Read it. Live it. You won't regret it. Roberta C. Redford, Publisher/Editor Contemporary Songwriter Magazine

5.0 out of 5 stars Useful Book. Highly Recommended., April 28, 2001
This review is from: 9 Creativity-Required Businesses You Can Start From Home: and How to Make Them Profitable Careers (Paperback)
One of the most useful books I've purchased in a while. One thing I appreciate is that the author doesn't hype anything or mislead the reader with unrealistic expectations. If a business or some aspect of one is easy, it's noted as such, if something is difficult, it's presented as such. Bottom line: I chose the freelance writing business and using the info supplied in the book, have created a profitable situation for myself writing for magazines and newspapers- something I had no clue to how to get into or training for prior to reading the book. If you're serious- buy it without delay. You'll be pleased with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Suggestions and gives In-Depth advice on ea. biz., August 16, 1999
This review is from: 9 Creativity-Required Businesses You Can Start From Home: and How to Make Them Profitable Careers (Paperback)
This is a great book for anyone who is creative but isn't sure what direction they'd like to go in. It offers suggestions of 9 different creative careers, most of which can be done right from home. It also gives great tips on marketing, which could be used whether you own or are starting a creative business or not. It's funny, intelligent and written in plain english. I really recommend to book to ANYONE who wants to start their own business!
