Oh....What FUN this is!! My 7 year old daughter just LOVES the Wee Enchanted Garden!! We had so much fun putting it all together! First you paint the planter...then you set up the layout...and finally plant the grass and beans. The beans and grass grow very easily and quickly...Which is perfect for children to watch and see the results of their hard work! Watching the plants grow, and trimming the grass...Finding small shells and rocks, to bring back from our walks, to place in the garden...has brought such delight to our days! A must buy!

My daughter got this kit for her 8th birthday, and she has absolutely loved it. She had SO much fun setting up the little house, planting the seeds, and putting the little mouse and other items around. It really fired her imagination, too -- she made up all sorts of stories about the fairies who lived in the house (and this isn't something she usually does.) The grass and beans grew reallly fast and tall, and she was so excited to see the magic garden grow. Also, the grass and beans have stayed alive for weeks, which is VERY unusual for us (no green thumbs in this house.) The kit is probably overpriced in terms of what you get -- I'm sure the dirt, seeds, plastic planter, etc., didn't cost anywhere near the sales price -- but the price was totally worth it in terms of how much enjoyment she got (and still gets) out of it. And, who wants to run all over town finding the right seeds, house, etc? My only complaint was that the rocks that came with the kit looked kind of dirty and not very exciting - we replaced them with prettier ones. Overall, though, this was a great item - I'm planning to get it as a gift for other kids, and my 4-year old is begging for his own.

Santa brought the Wee Enchanted Garden for my 6 year old daughter this past Christmas. We spent a great afternoon together creating her garden! She absolutely loved putting it all together! She loves to paint and got really creative mixing the paints to get greens and oranges. She not only painted the planter but some of the stones too. We filled the planter, made the landscape and planted the bean and grass seeds. In only a couple days, everything was beginning to grow. Every day, I'd come home from work and she has to take me to the "forest" and show me all the new stuff and point out how much bigger everything is. She absolutley loves this!! I am not disappointed one bit and believe it was worth every penny!

Still giving enjoyment after 8 months.,

My daughter got this set for Christmas and put it in her terrarium with her lizards. She has not only used all the included seeds, but "branched" out by using some left over garden seeds and marbles and pebbles for the cottage. It has brought her so much enjoyment and will be easy and inexpensive to duplicate.

I got this for myself, actually. I like playing with stuff like this, even though I am no longer a kid! I had fun painting the pot and planting the seeds. A few days later, the grass started to grow. Unfortunately I haven't seen much of the beans - but hopefully soon. This is a fun kit to play with, but doesn't actually give you many hours of enjoyment. Once you paint the kit and plant the seeds (which doesn't take THAT long) you basically just check on it every so often to water it and see the plants. One other good thing about this kit, they give you extra seeds and tell you how to make them sprout using paper towels so you can see the entire process - very interesting! Would recommend, as the price is not too bad - but there are plenty of more eduacational toys out there that will occupy more of your time.

Had a wonderful couple hours putting this together with my 5-year old niece. And, because I live across country from her, she promised she would call me when the plants started growing. Just a few days later, I got an excited phone message from her that the garden was growing and the "plants were SO TALL." I called her back and told her to get the lawnmower out, which she quickly relayed to her father. The only thing I would change about this kit would be to have more realistic and fun animals and maybe an elf to go with the house. The kit includes a plastic frog and mouse that aren't even near scaled to the size of the house. An elf, a few deer, and a squirrel might be a better combination.

Cute, But a Little Chintzy for Price,

This was a cute project, very education and my girls really enjoyed it, however, I think the items the kit includes are on the cheap side for the price you are paying for the kit. I would have preferred a better selection of items or better quality items.
We did improvise with items we already had and were happy with the way our little Enchanted Garden turned out.

My 6 year old daughter loves the Wee Enchanted Garden Kit. It was easy for her to be creative without a lot of supervision. All of the items in the kit were packaged individually and the picture on the box made it easy for her to see how to set up the garden. She loves the fact that she is actually growing something and the grass seeds came up overnight...so not a lot of waiting for something to happen. Wasn't too messy. Every day we look for fairies and other wee creatures in her garden. Very cute...good for the imagination.
