My daughter needed a pair of scissors to use and since she's 2, she knows she's not supposed to use the big ones. These are still a little large for her, but it's because she has small hands. They are great as they're pretty good at cutting a few pieces of paper. They haven't been a problem with my daughter cutting herself so these look like they're doing their job.

I was very disappointed with these scissors. When I opened the package I discovered they were very flimsy and light weight. They seemed very cheaply made. I do not think they would have lasted long once my toddler started using them. They also stuck when I tried to open and close them, and would have been extremely frustrating for someone just learning to use scissors.

I bought this pair of scissors for my daughter when she was 2.5 years old. At first she had a hard time cutting paper continuously as she couldn't re-open them after cutting once. Now she's almost 3, has more grip strength, so now she can cut paper continuously. The size is good for her hands. I'm not really sure about safety aspect because she's never had an accident or near-accident of cutting fingers.
