It¹s spring break for Nina, Joe, and Bob, but it won¹t bring fun in the sun for the three teens. There are reports of shark attacks at the NASA causeway down in southern Florida, and when Nina, Joe, and Bob get wind, they know where they¹re headed this vacation. After all, there hasn¹t been a shark attack in Florida for years. It sounds like the Creature from the Black Lagoon has appeared and it¹s going to be their toughest challenge yet. How do you fight a monster that lives underwater?
Larry Mike Garmon began his writing career at 16 writing sports and news for the Wyoming State Tribune. He soon took up photojournalism and by the end of high school had worked as a stringer for UPI, AP, Rocky Mountain News, LA Times, New York Times, and the National Editors Association.
His first YA novel was a trade paperback Hardy Boys Casefiles mysteries.
He continued to write several in the Casefiles series including one Nancy Drew-Hardy Boys SuperMystery set at Quartz Mountain, Oklahoma.
Because of his experience with the Hardy Boys series, Universal Studios and Scholastic Books, Inc., contracted with Garmon to develop and write a six-book YA series based on the classic Universal Studio monsters: Dracula, Wolf Man, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, The Mummy, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon.
Garmon has also written for the RollarCoaster Tycoon middle grade series.
He was asked to help develop the Map Monsters YA fantasy series published in England and Europe.
He is a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, the Horror Writers Association, Oklahoma Writers Federation, Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and is the founder of the Shortgrass Children and Young Writers Association.
Garmon grew up watching B-horror horror and science fiction movies on late night shook and horror shows. He also delved into Edgar Allen Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, H.P. Lovecraft, Guy de Maupassant, & H.G. Wells at an young age.
Garmon's writing covers dark fantasy, horror, and mystery genres.
He is presently working on MG/YA apocalyptic thriller called NEVRLAND.
