5.0 out of 5 stars Out of the Darkwave and into the Fire..., January 31, 2006
This review is from: Creature Comfort (Audio CD)
Fans of Joy Division take heed, Roundhead is a treasure not to be missed. Sadly, the band did not last long enough to see the sound they borrowed from the likes of Joy Division, the Chameleons, and the Comsat Angels gain the widespread adoration that is bestowed on pale immitators like Interpol and the Killers but they did stay with us long enough to release two fine albums. Creature Comfort was for them what Sleep No More was for the Comsat's, a dark brooding masterpiece that far too few ever heard. The first album would be a plus but Creature Comfort is a masterpiece on it's own. A preview of things that would return.

5.0 out of 5 stars Roundhead: the anti-funk, January 9, 2003

Perhaps this review is heavily influenced by live performances of
Roundhead at Sudsy Malone's in Cincinnati and Mac and Joe's basement in Oxford, OH; but Roundhead, formerly Dial Viking, fomrerly Warehouse is a wall of sound that is not easily defined. They may not be playing gigs anymore but their fans have not forgotten their insidious heavy groove. SHOVE ME!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dreamy, elegant, just what the doctor ordered., May 20, 1999

This review is from: Creature Comfort (Audio CD)
Though this band has been around for many years, they have remained a closely guarded secret in the Ohio music scene. With the release of "Creature Comfort," we find that Roundhead has honed in on their craft. Music beaten out with melodic force, creating black and blue hues of trumpet, cello, and pounding rhythm. This is a must-have for anyone who appreciates an aural experience. Also look for "Breathe Aim Slack Squeeze" on Violently Hip Records, Cincinnati, OH.
