I prefer things to be as simple as possible to clean and these cups are the opposite of that but they are my favorite because they are so completely awesome that it's even worth the hassle to me. (Something that I think everyone should consider before purchasing)
They do appear delicate and can be hard to mix my milk and sugar into my coffee especially in the Octopus cup but I use a plastic spoon and it works out just fine.
I have washed it right away but what I noticed and didn't realize at first and I'm not sure if it's just my cup or everyone's cups is that the creatures seem to have a tiny hole or 2. I think whatever liquid you pour into your cup ends up inside the creature itself as well. Even after I've thoroughly washed the cup and dried it, if I turn it over at just the right angle, I'll see some left over watered down coffee seemingly dribble down out of nowhere at first but that's when I first discovered the holes. In the Octopus, it's in the eyes. In the Otter, it's on his belly but below his hands. I have only hand washed so far and not put them in the dish washer.
It does worry me a little and make me wonder if everything got cleaned out or not or what mixture of weird stuff might be sitting inside the creature. I haven't used the other cups yet and it's still too early to tell if I've noticed any weird tastes due to any left over liquids in the holes. If I do, I'll update this post. But I am curious to know if anyone else has noticed these holes also.
That's my only concern but other than that, they are quite awesome.
The legs are fragile, and there are many little crevices underneath the, perfect for getting stains and other stuff trapped in there!
Also, if u don't flip the cup upside down to make sure all the water drains, it'll start growing mold in those crevices! I had to bleach mine to get it all out!
stick with the other creature cups that are less ornament.
The cup is smaller than your average mug, so you'll be drinking less of that coffee too :(
I'm gonna use my cup as a ring holder now.
I love this thing, it is exactly what you see in the picture. An Octopus chilling at the base of your cup. And you don't see it until you're about half-way done sipping on your Coffee. It's a lot cooler looking with Tea or even cold Cola. You start seeing this mysterious object deep in your cup and as you take sips it becomes creepier and creepier.
I will be buying two more to give to friends and family, since they love it so much.
Pro Tip: If you want to keep this thing clean, wash it IMMEDIATELY after you're done drinking.

Cute, study. Only gripe is that it is a PAIN to clean under those tentacles by hand.Published 1 day ago by Alexander
It sits on a shelf to look at since I received it as a gift from my other half since it looks like it'd be a pain to clean but I still like it all the same!Published 2 months ago by Amazon Customer
Cup it too small and the octopus is fun for a minute but just takes up too much room in the bottom. Not to mention that it's a little tough to clean. Read morePublished 2 months ago by MB Boston
