3.0 out of 5 stars WORTH WATCHING!
Again the gill man is captured and ends up going on a rampage, and killing people, AND falling in love with a human girl, AND!!!!, well I think you get it. Since the first film that formula hasn't changed. In REVENGE OF THE CREATURE nothing is different, but the movie is exciting enough and romantic enough to make you care about the same old story. But this movie...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Creature Walks Among, December 22, 1999
By A Customer
As a child, I thought this movie was the worst of the creature series; as an adult I think it is by far the best. It is really not a story about the gillman, but a story about human relationships. There are many subtleties in the movie, beginning with the title: The word "Creature" in the title does not refer to the gillman: but does it refer to Dr. Barton, the Frankenstein character in the movie, or imply that "The Creature" always walks among us in one guise or another? The tone of the movie is one of mood, created by the isolation of the group pursuing the gillman for individual reasons, as well as by well-done diving scenes and scenes of the Everglades at night. The ending is completely one of mood. The competent B cast all play there roles well. If you've avoided this one because of its generally bad reputation, give it a try; you may change your mind as I did.

4.0 out of 5 stars An underrated Universal Horror Film, March 26, 2000
By A Customer
"The Creature Walks Among Us" remains one of Universal Studio's most underrated Horror Films. Perhaps because it was the last film in the "Creature" trilogy, it has garnered few favors. Well look again. It is more moody and provacative then the first two films in the series. There is an intersting twist with the Creature itself due to an accident that damages its gills. The Black and White photography is particularly crisp, and as always Universal Studios has done a marvelous job of restoring their print for video. Forget about the latest Summer monster flic at your nearby theatre, buy the Creature trilogy which also includes "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" and "The Revenge of the Creature" and enjoy a classic summer film festival at home.

4.0 out of 5 stars Torture of the Creature part III, October 5, 2002

Third of the "Creature" movies, it is better than "Revenge Of The Creature" but not as good as the original "Creature From The Black Lagoon". The Creature is again captured and after being badly burned and near death, it is discovered he has lungs he has never used. Some minor surgery and he is now a land creature. He is also more manlike since his outer skin was burned off to reveal a different look. Well acted and a good classic monster movie. Im still waiting impatiently for this one as well as Revenge to make it to DVD....

5.0 out of 5 stars best of the creature films, January 29, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Creature Walks Among Us [VHS] (VHS Tape)
My favourite of the creature films. In fact, I just finished watching it on tv.I loved this movie so much I even asked my uncle to tape it for me along with the Revenge of the Creature. Look very hard for this movie because I did and it was worth it.

Since the first film that formula hasn't changed. In REVENGE OF THE CREATURE nothing is different, but the movie is exciting enough and romantic enough to make you care about the same old story. But this movie barely keeps your intrest, and in the end actually almost makes you ashamed to be human. I won't give away way though. All in all this is a good movie but pales in comparisin to it's predesessors.

I'll say one thing- the studio sure 'milked' this for all it was worth. The first episode of the 'Creature' was a big hit, and 2nd (Revenge of the Creature) did OK. But this last episode was pretty tame. But, then again, back in the 50's, sci-fi was top dog-right?

4.0 out of 5 stars The Creature Wears Clothes, April 1, 2011
This review is from: Creature Walks Among Us [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Not bad, pretty good movie. It's great except for the fact that the creature wears clothes and that it never reveals weather the creature lives or dies.

3.0 out of 5 stars Third time is not the charm, December 27, 2010

This movie while entertaining is the least of the Creature movies. It has a novel twist but the acting and suspense are not as good as the first two movies.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great- Depressing, December 8, 2010

I think this movie is overlooked, being the last Creature movie of the three.
The Creatured is burned early on in the film and changed into a landlubber. Of course, he's caged right in front of a body of water and made to feel pretty bad.
The humans are the monsters in the this movie with the poor Creature - can't spoil the ending but I think this is well worth watching.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best of the three, January 12, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This movie is one hour and eighteen minutes and released on April 26, 1956. Ricou Browning, who playe the Creature in the water, is the only one to be in all three Creature movie. Another piece of trivia is Rex Reason and Jeff Morrow were in the movie This Island Earth. The first two Creature movies were great to watch. As for this one, let just say they did not listen to some true advice: if it is not broke, don't fix it. The story is lame and gone is the great underwater scenes. Also they made the Creature a land animal and made him put on weight. Only buy if you want the trilogy.
