4.0 out of 5 stars Perhaps one of the best books written on the subject, September 10, 2001

This review is from: Credit Repair Rip-Off: How To Avoid The Scams And Do It Yourself (Paperback)
A lot of the "Repair Your Own Credit" books out there are not very helpful. Some of them tell you nothing you didn't already know... Not this one! This is one of the more useful Credit Advice books available on the market. It gives the background of several fraudulant "Credit Repair" firms, info on how to spot a scam, inside look on how the credit bureaus work, and things you can do to correct and "polish" your credit. I would recommend this book to anyone before paying a credit repair/credit counseling company.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor and outdated advise., May 21, 2008
This review is from: Credit Repair Rip-Off: How To Avoid The Scams And Do It Yourself (Paperback)
First off this book was published in 1994. The laws and regulations have completely changed over the years. Plus after reading, what you dont realize is that most states have different laws as well. I tried to do it on my own and while I was able to get a few things off, they popped right back on a few months later. After looking into many "rip-off" credit repair agencies, I found RMCN Credit Services, Inc. Not only were the legitimate and Registered with the state, but they got 70-90% of my bad credit deleted permanently. Now I live with great credit again and I owe it all to Nikki Harris and RMCN. I would suggest that anyone interested in buying this book, to give them a call instead.
