Book Description

Way too young, eleven year old Tucker Creed and his six year old neighbor, Sylvie Bissenette, find they have something awful in common. Creed then decides he’s going to do everything in his limited power to shield his Sylvie from her ordeal. So he does and Creed and Sylvie form a bond that grows and blossoms with their ages.

They plot to leave their lives behind, the town they live in that will hold them down and the histories they share that, unless they break free, will bury them. Sylvie goes to their special place, Creed never shows and she doesn’t see him again until it’s too late.

With Creed gone, Sylvie is forced to endure a nightmare and do the unspeakable to end it. To deal, she develops a hard shell with sharp edges that very few can break through. So when Creed again finds his Sylvie, he discovers the girl he loved is locked away and he has to find his way back into her heart without getting shredded in the process.

About the Author

Kristen Ashley grew up in Indiana, but has lived in Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least), but loopy is good when you want to write. Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched). Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up. And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved it! September 16, 2012
By Lise
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved it! My introduction into the alpha- world of KA was months ago when I read Sweet Dreams. I really liked Tate and Laurie's story. Then I started Lady Luck, but it was a did not finish at 70%... Hmm... so why did I pick this one up. Well.. after all the mixed reviews of Knight and the whole anti-hero series KA has going, I thought I would give this a try. I am thrilled that I did. Can't beat a story of first love, done wrong, misunderstanding, badass alpha male and female-KA style. KA created two beautiful characters in Creed and Sylvie; their love and commitment to one another as children to young adult and then 16 years later as tortured souls was a delicious ride of emotions. Oh-and the epilogue rocked!

2.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE KA, but she put me to sleep with this one. September 26, 2012
By RJ_418
Format:Kindle Edition
I've read the majority of KA's books with the exception of a few in her fantasy series. With that said, it's hard to critique her in an unbiased POV. However, I have to go by what genre she was targeting here, erotica. Usually, I don't end up liking these types of books because there isn't much of a plot and it's constant sex scene after sex scene without any building of chemistry or that sexual tension. BUT, the reality is, people who read that genre want just that. Quick and dirty. Well, I just don't think KA met the mark of what those genre of readers would want, and at that, I'm a fan of her and would still rate this at the very bottom of my list.

As an erotica novel, it was too long and took too much time to get through. At first, I was trucking along great and thought okay, this is going to actually be erotica with a plot. Wow. BUT THEN, it coasted. Another reviewer wrote that the book "ended" halfway through. I have to agree. The problem they were working to solve, was solved with half of the book to go. Afterward, it kind of became a "I love you/love you back" dialogue between Creed and Sylvie. That got old pretty fast. I personally, got to a point and thought "so...why should I keep reading?" If you can read something just for the sex scenes, more power to you, but even those became few and far between and were still somewhat repetitive, so it's like there's no goal in mind and you keep reading the same scene over and over. I got REALLY tired from reading this book. With the exception of Knight, I've never wanted to stop reading and not finish a KA book like I did with Creed.

I had a major problem in Knight with not liking the characters. I just couldn't stand them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't let this be your first Kristen Ashley book September 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I have read at least 15 of Kristen Ashley's books and I have to admit I was very disappointed with this one. I usually love her books. She is a great story teller and I love her characters. I loved the characters in this book but I felt like it was really redundant. The story basically comes to a conclusion about 1/3 rd of the way throught the book and the rest is a repeat of the same theme. If you're a Kristen Ashley fan and have read a lot of her other books this might satisfy, but if this is your first I suggest you start with one of the Dream Man series or Colorado Mountain Series. Even the Rock Chik Series. I did love Knight. I wish this was as good. Perhaps the next will be better. I still love your book Kristen :)

4.0 out of 5 stars BLOOD,SWEAT,TEARS, & BEAUTY September 16, 2012

Creed & Sylvie.. Just hot

But so much more...

Once again Ms. Ashley brought it home with the 2nd installment to this series. To say that we KA fans & fans of this series were losing our minds waiting for this book, would be an understatement. I mean we were all literally STALKING the internet waiting for this book to be released.

It was certainly well worth the wait I must say. I truly enjoyed this one and could not be moved from my laptop.

It took me a bit, but not too long to really become entralled with this story though. I was not sure how I was feeling about Sylvie. I like her. She's a strong cookie, but I wasn't sure how I was feeling overall about her purpose or place within this story. And Creed, I was blown away and conflicted and eager to know why he and Sylvie suffered and was ultimately torn apart for so many years. Once I admitted my eargerness to know the deal, shortly it was revealed thus began my sobbing, screaming, laughing, heart pumping into my throat reactions, concerning this book.

I was suprised that we got to see alot more of Knight in this one than I thought we would. And there were a few heartfelt, heartwarming just OMG! scenes involving he and Sylvie. I loved this. And I loved Anya in this as well. But ultimately Knight will always just leave me beside myself..

The reason why this one gets 4 instead of 5 stars from me is because I felt the issues that brought Sylvie & Creed's story to the forefront in the first place (their jobs) was glossed over and ended very anti-climatic to me.

Which was a bummer for me cos this is what dominated the story for the 1st 11 or so chapters. And Knight's brother Nick??? WTHeck happened there? And Why?

3.0 out of 5 stars Just not sure if i like it or not! January 14, 2014
By Rach
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read the forewarning by the author in regards to this story before i read it as she noted some of the scenes were very graphic and the story is quite full on. I loved Kristen Ashley's Rock chick series and have read quite a few erotic fiction novels before. I knew it would be different but i thought i could handle it. Too be honest i haven't finished the story, i am 70% through, i still want too but i found it very distressing, negative and heart breaking at times that i needed a break. I have no negative feelings for Kristen Ashley because I was warned but it was just too much for me. I hope at some other time in my life i might be able to finish the story which i know from the way the story is written that a happier ending is mostly inevitable. Nevertheless I would recommend if you are going to read this story you read the authors warning first!

More About the Author

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen's Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing's changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she's blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.

It looks as though KA has fallen victim to the removal of Creed due to the "censorship" issues that Amazon is currently enforcing. Apparently they have removed the ebook version for now, but you can still get the paperback? I think they have done this with several books so far, but... Read More
