Few things to know- tolerates sun and shade, has tolerated every kind of dry/wet condition. It's planted in a place in my yard alone a driveway that gets mottled morning light, plunged in to shade until the sun moves around back, then gets absolutely blasted with afternoon sun from around 2 to set. No problems. It LOVES to be stepped on so it's great for traffic areas and the more you step on it, the more it spreads and flowers. It was almost made for children (but doesn't take to the dogs going on it!). It stays a nice, low ground-hugging pant with absolutely zero maintenance but will grow a little taller (to 4" from 2") alongside structure (wood railroad ties, which it definitely cheers up!) and would be good as a fill-in for flagstone paths (or indeed, AS a path). It IS rather hard to contain so use it with edging as it grows in a very shallow manner (it covered a 4x3 area in one year from a 4" square plug, in a rather moist clay bed over an inch of mulch). The flowers are small but pleasing and bright light blue, something when blooming en masse is quite a show stopper, and it smells slightly sweet, too. It dies off in winter but is one of the first green things you'll see in spring. I give it away, put it in problem areas, step on it for fun. I'm in 7b and it's one of my favorites in an extensive perennial setting. It does spread quickly and aggressively, but so long as you prefer green plants over mulch this is the chap for you. It will choke out all but the toughest dandelions, too. Even the Master Gardener across the street comes over to just grin at it. Definitely worth it if you plan for it in advance. It's a workhorse.

Word of warning to anyone purchasing this plant. Pay VERY close attention to it, if you don't you will end up with nothing but Blue Star Creeper in your lawn. I have no idea where this stuff even came from, but it has taken over more than 60% of my 3000 sq ft lawn. It is nearly impossible to kill. It's even killing my zoysia sod that we paid a fortune for.

When it arrived, the soil was still wet! I have placed it in a sunny window, and it is thriving. I absolutely love it and I thank you so much for such beautiful and healthy plant! Phyllis
