Introducing.....,
By Rex Marksmanson "HEYO!" (Long Island, New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Creepin on Ah Come Up (Audio CD)
Bone Thugs-N- Harmony, this debut album from Cleveland's finest definetly does not dissapoint. With only 7 tracks (actually its 8 but I dont count the instrumental) it makes for a short, but instant rap classic, up there in the ranks with Eazy-E's "St8 off the streets...". This album contains great songs with a very West coast feel to them,"Thuggish Ruggish Bone", "No Surrender", "Down Foe My Thang", "Creepin on ah come up", "Foe tha love of $" which is the whole album :O) And if that isn't enough Eazy E and DJ Yella both produced this album, with Eazy even appearing on "Foe tha love of money", so pretty much if you love any of Eazy E's albums, then make sure to check out his boys from Cleveland Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

The album which started "it all".......,

This is the cd which put the most unique and original style on the map. Before the great E.1999 Eternal, there was this. Containing the hit songs Thuggish Ruggish Bone (a bone classic) and Fo Tha Love Of $ (also a classic), this was Bone's "hungry" album. They were young, angry, and eager, the this album shows it. Uneek only produces 2 cuts on the album, TRB and No Surrender. The beats are hardcore, and simple, as they had not yet reached the pyro-technic skills of E.1999 Eternal yet. The style and lyrics however shocked the world, and Bone became an instant success with this debut, as it peaked at #12 on the charts and sold over 4 million copies. Bone tells their story of "coming up" and taking the world by storm with this style, in the self-titled song "Creepin On Ah Come Up". This quite possibly one of the best hard-core gangsta rap albums ever created, along with Stra8 Outta Compton, The Chronic, etc. Bone was definatly at the hardest on this cd, though the E.1999 Eternal album is much superior. Still gets 5 stars though, cuz of the impact it had on the hip hop nation. A must buy.

Creepin on ah comeup came out mid 94, and is still played by alot of people, because it has some of their best songs like the clasics ''Thugish rugish bone, ''foe tha love of $'' and of course one of my top 5 bone songs of all time ''no surrender''. Then there is 2 more other songs like ''down foe my thang'' and ''creppin on ah comeup'' the intro is thight also.Bone's style was diferent back then, if you don't know what I mean listen to their ''THUG WORLD ORDER'' cd. Remember this cd is a little bit short so if the price seems a bit to much go get their new ''THUG WORLD ORDER'' or their clasic E. 1999 ETERNAL.

THis started It all. The Bone craze, harmonic melodies, effortless flows, the chemistry, all off the heezy. This cd only consists of 8 songs ( two skits and intros and one instrumental). The cd is still that hard bone thugs music with fresh production people have grown to love. Their first video song Thuggish Ruggish Bone was so raw that it hooked many people on first listen including me. No Surrender May be the best song on the album arguably. Tight Chorus beat lyrics and flow. A Well Constructed song. Down Foe My Thing and the Title Track are also well worth listening to. There Are No Bad Songs on the disc and you will never get bored of it Guaranteed. A must Have. Innovative Hip Hop Classic.

From B.O.N.E enterpri$e to Bone Thugs this album is tight,

This review is from: Creepin on Ah Come Up (Audio CD)
Creepin on ah come up had only 8 songs and the last 1 moe cheddar is instrumental. That is probably the only reason why is not a classic or as good as East 1999 Eternal. Bone Thug's second album (due to faces of death release under B.O.N.E Enterpi$e name) brings it the quija and murder style that later on characterizes Bone Thugs throught the country. The young thugs rip up the mic in classic singles like thuggish ruggish bone and foe tha love of $ wit Eazy-E. But if you hear those two songs on the radio and think their good. Creepin on ah come up's production has songs like no surrender with a fast tight beat that blows up lyrics. A defenite satisfaction, but due to the lack of number of songs it only gets 4 stars

ME NO SURRENDER!!,

I bought this CD about 8 yars ago when I got hooked with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, along with one of the greatest album of all time, E. 1999 Eternal. After listening to E. 1999 Eternal I put this CD in and listened all the way through. Intro is tight, and so are all 5 songs. Thuggish Ruggish Bone is Bone rapping slower than their normal speed, but lyrics and the beats are tight as hell. Next up is No Surrender; my favorite song of all time. Is it that great? Fu* k yes! The song paints such a vivid image of desperate youth. It's like fu* k it. I'm going all out till they kill me. It's beyond that, but you get the idea. It's impossible to describe all of the stuff going on in this track. It's layered, it's lightning fast, and it's Parental Advisory Explicit Lyrics. While being hard-hitting to the extreme, it also is done so smoothly that it defines how a song can be both hard and smooth at the same time. It's soooo great. Foe tha Love of Money the seventh track has the latest and greatest Eazy-E verse that just forces you to follow with his flow. "So I dash, and I ducks, and I hides behind a tree. Making sure the motherfu* *ers dont see me." Just great. Down Foe my Thang is youthful and heavily bass-lined. Nicely done. Creepin on ah Come Up, the title track, is just as great as down foe my thang. This is my 3rd favorite album of all time. 1st is Doggystyle and 2nd is E. 1999 Eternal also by Bone Thugs, but anyway; I guarantee you that if you are a rap fan, you'll love this album. No Surrender itself would make the album a Must-Buy. It's one of the greatest hardcore rap songs of all time, and my favorite of all time. Go to the store and buy this if you don't own it. Right now.

Bone's first official release (not counting the rare and hard to find "B.O.N.E. Enterprise" album from 92 or 93). Classic, not much more to say, even though it's only 5 songs, they're all classics or damn good songs. With all 5 members on here, Flesh was still around, you get the beginning to one of the best groups ever in rap, and in their prime, as what they did was something new and orioginal and everone loved it. Production is insane, like on E.1999, and mostly handled by the great DJ Uneek, who's beats fit them so well, and some help from Yella. A must have album

The 5 thugs from Cleveland come in hard and heavy with their first cd as Bone Thugs N Harmony. the cd although featuring only 8 tracks is pure gold. If you are a fan of Eazy E,fast rapping or hip hop in general you will love this cd.
the cd only realy has 5 songs but this is the only downside to the cd. 2 of the songs (Thuggish ruggish bone,Foe tha love of $) are rap classics, No Surrender is held in high regard by many fans and the other 2 tracks Creepin on a come up and Down foe my thang are brilliant. Personally i think this cd is Bones 2nd best cd folowed by E. 99 Eternal, and being able to be picked up for a cheap price there is no reason to not get it. This cd is influenced by west coast rap with eazy e appearing in foe tha love of $ and Yella of N.W.A doing some of the beats along with DJ U-neek. this Cd is great, from the lyrics, the beats and the raw cleveland thug attitude, makes this cd one of my all time favourites. Into: skip this track just another intro Mr. Quija: A boring skit Thuggish ruggish bone: A classic great beat and verses from all members No surrender: A very good anti police track Down fo my thang: Superb beat, good song, nuff said Creepin on ah come up: cool lyrics about stealing and robbing foe tha love of $: another classic featuring the late great Eazy e awesome verse by flesh Moe cheese: an instrumental

It hits hard,

This review is from: Creepin on Ah Come Up (Audio CD)
This is the cult classic first Bone effort. Come Up is renowned by anyone who has a brain in his head. It's poetry in motion and is about 6 tracks away from being rated a 5. It's rough, raw, and has laughably poor art on the back.
First off - the album is violent. It's violent to levels unparalleled previously or since. Bone makes little or no attempt to justify the violence. There is no "Crossroads" on here. It's Cleveland thugsters in a real studio for the first time. The beats are simple, and the rap is fast. This CD really is violence as good as it gets. Most time I would penalize an artist in some way for being simply violent with no visibly noble motives. I can't do that in this case. The Bone thugs are desperately violent in a way that doesn't come off in an ICP way. They paint the life of petty thugs in an unglamorous bloody way. You can really see exactly where they're coming from by looking at the picture on the front of the CD. They're speaking to the listener. There is no glitz or bling bling. The Bone Thugs are not robbing and stealing to buy jewelry, they're robbing for food. Bone never really mentions fast cars, fast women, or stupidly large rings. This is what makes the album so good. It's pure, it's poor in some places, but revolutionary most of the time. The only reason I don't give it a 5 is because there are 8 tracks and 2 terrible skit things. I can't give you the 5 on 8 tracks. The album is essentially flawless, but we need more. It's the "California Love" of rap CD's. Overall, I'd get it if you dont have it and if you can find it!

Bone Thugs - Creepin On Ah Come Up,
By Wu-Tang_Assassin (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Creepin on Ah Come Up (Audio CD)
Just got this album today. I was pretty satisfied with it. Let me get to the positives first. The production, its insane. On the back of the album, it shows all the producers who helped produce the album. Every single beat on the album is insanely hott. My favorite one is "Down Foe My Thang". That beat is one of the sickest beats i've heard. Production wise, this album fails in NO way at ALL. Lyric wise, I was feeling the lyrics Bone Thugs had to spit on this album. They have A LOT of originality, with the lyrics, beats and FLOW and everything. Bone Thugs flow on this album is insane, I think they have the best type of style and rapping fast, they do it perfectly. Each member in Bone Thugs, puts in their own part in the album, dropping their verses.
Now let me get to the negatives. The lack of songs, lets get it straight, this IS an "EP". So thats why the whole album only has 8 tracks. Another dissapointment though, its theres an Intro, THEN "Mr. Ouija", which is another skit. Which right there narrows it down to 6 tracks. Tracks 3-7 are all songs, and good ones that. But then the last song, "Moe Cheese", is the same beat as "Foe Tha Love Of $". Kind of a waste in my opinion. So your only getting about 5 tracks total. So beware of this. But let me tell you that ALL the tracks which have rapping are excellent songs. You should check this album out first also, if your brand new fan to Bone Thugs. My Top 5 Songs (Since there is hardly any songs ill put my favorites in order) 1.Down Foe My Thang 2.Thuggish Ruggish Bone 3.Foe Tha Love Of $ 4.No Surrender 5.Creepin On Ah Come Up |
