When I first started following David Bickel's @Creepiosity profile on twitter, I was intrigued by his -- how shall I put this in politically correct terms? -- "unique" sense of humor. I was also entertained, sometimes horrified, and generally in utter agreement with his choices as to what qualifies as unintentionally creepy (except for the chapter about multiple cat ownership). What makes David a genius is that he has given a perfect name to those things we've all been aware of via an unbidden shudder here, or an eyeroll there, but never had a way to express it before. His book is genius. He's genius. And you will never look at life the same after you read it. Which you will. Because you're going to buy it. Otherwise, David might send a troupe of Red-Ass Monkeys after you. Seriously. He's like that.

Finally a book that's creepy but also very, very funny. Open letter to a homeless guy is hilarious. The author, David Bickel is a former writer/producer for THE KING OF QUEENS. This book proves that he is also the KING OF CREEPY.

Equal parts hilarious and disturbing, I highly recommend this read. I too have felt an odd malaise walking by a grown man in a boy scout uniform or an oddly occupied stroller - now I know why: it's creepy. Not quite scary, but definitely creepy.

Kind of a weird book but fairly interesting. I got it at a reduced price, so I thought it was okay. I don't think I'd have liked it too much at regular price.

David Bickel's Creepiosity is Carlin-ian (as in George), Martin-esque (as in Steve), and Wright-ish (as in Orville) meaning it's completely original. A wonderfully weird and loopy intro followed by spot on hilarious descriptions and photos of those little things in life that have always gone bump in our mind. Author Bickel nimbly strides the narrow tightrope of meta-humor to give us something that is intelligent AND fourth-grader-milk-through-the-nose-laugh-out-loud funny.

My twelve year old son has laughed himself into tears reading this book (as have I). This is a very funny book that honestly, i did not have high expectations of from the title but it has turned out to be my son's most read and re-read book -he loves it and so will adults.

Bad enough that I almost lost it laughing at this book while sitting on the floor of what's left of our local Borders. I was located between the humour section and and the pets section, and somehow a book called Sugar Gliders (Complete Pet Owners Manual) ended up right next to Creepiousity. It seemed like a comletely logical extension of the examples from the first book, and pretty much did me in:

[...]

After this one-two punch, it was impossible to stop seeing the unintentionally and laughably creepy everywhere I looked. Creepiousity is a welcome tonic for too much seriousness!

Not interesting and full of silly stuff...seemed quite juvenile to me. The stories are not really creepy or well written
