Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Gr. 2^-3. The trio of kids who like to call themselves Invisible Ink is back with another mystery to solve. Famous writer U. B. Spooks is participating in an online chat when the message "Invitation to Doom!" mysteriously appears. The young detectives uncover the identity of the pseudonymous writer, and Chad gives his detective buddies a lesson in how uncomfortable life can be for someone who is different. Breezy, contemporary, and with a smidgen of suspense, this introduces some of the expressions and conventions of the burgeoning online world. Some readers might say :-p, but most will vote :-). Susan Dove Lempke --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Creepy Computer review, February 19, 2001

Kyle Woodlock (Chelmsford, MA USA) - See all my reviews
My name is Kyle. I'm in Mrs. Carter's first grade class. I asked my teacher if I could take this book home to read it. It was a book on the shelf that I read 5 chapters about kids that solve mysteries. I'm going to buy all the rest of the books with the same kids in them. I like all these books, but my favorite book is with the same kids called The School Yard Mystery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Being Invisible Has Advantages, March 24, 2008
Scholastic Reader Invisible Inc. Level 4
The Creepy Computer Mystery

The mystery solving team of Invisible Inc. consists of three children.
Chip, who fell into a strange pool of water and became invisible. Charlene is brave and sometimes bossy and Justin who is hard of hearing and can read lips.

Their school is invited to an author chat with U.B. Spooks. They can see the messages from other schools, but their messages aren't getting through.

Since they missed out on a chance to visit with an author, the children of Invisible Inc. decide to earn money to bring an author to their school, by selling computer made greeting cards and invitations.

Someone is sending strange messages and invitations of doom are replacing invitations to parties.

Who is responsible for the scary messages? How will the team of Invisible Inc. earn enough money to bring an author to their school? Will they solve The Creepy Computer Mystery?

I recommend Invisible Inc., The Creepy Computer Mystery for children who are reading chapter books and ready to learn harder words.
