5.0 out of 5 stars Terrifying!! February 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I love this genre and I have several books that are full on ghost stories. I like being scared out of my whits and these stories do a good job of doing just that. These stories are not creepy, they are downright terrifying. I read so many ghost stories that few if any keep me awake at night but these stories are the type that you do not stop thinking about and that remain in your subconscious for a long time. I know that this does not sound like an endorsement for this book but if you are looking for stories that will scare you out of your skin, get this book.

I took two groups camping last month and I bought this book so that I had some new fireside stories to tell. These stories would not have worked well for the seven year old boyscouts because they really are more adult kind of themes. These stories however, were perfect for the seventeen year old rock climbing club kids. These stories are intense and some of my rock climbers said that they wished that they had never heard them at all. Prepared to be scared and do not buy unless you seriously want to be creeped out!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Well-written and clever November 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a great little collection of horror stories.

"Siren Song" grabbed me right away and took me somewhere I wasn't expecting to go.

"The Buzz" was my favourite. A gem of a story invoking unspeakable horrors.

"The Wedding Album" may come across as a little forced due to the large amount of exposition that needs to be expressed in a brief span of dialogue, but this detracts only slightly from another imaginative and memorable story.

More About the Author

I've done many kinds of writing in a long and varied career, and I am always amazed at the power of words and stories to illuminate and bring joy to our lives. If you get the words right even the humblest catalog copy, which I wrote in the beginning of my professional life, can make commonplace products shine. People need good writing to make them see the beauty of the world, the importance of their lives, the mystery and wonder of each moment.

I now have a dozen books on Amazon Kindle. They're not predictable. I write horror stories with no blood or gore in them, humor stories with an edge, poetry that sometimes rhymes and sometimes doesn't, and sentimental stories that have been called "shockingly sweet". I expect to try my hand at other styles and genres too. I also write several blogs (you can subscribe to the feeds at my author page) where I post essays, fiction, humor, and much more. I live outside of Philadelphia, PA, with my wife and four children, and I am so happy to be alive during this revolutionary time in the publishing industry. The rise of electronic publishing is the biggest thing since the invention of the printing press, and I am so glad to be part of it.
