I was skeptical after reading all of the reviews about the quality of this product. I figured for the price it would at least be worth a shot, and if it was as "bad" as others were saying then I was out very little money... Here are my thoughts and I hope this helps everyone who is considering buying this guitar for a child that is not sure if they want to learn to play or not. I would rather spend minimal $$ on a chance rather than a larger investment on a name brand guitar.

When I gave the guitar to my 7 year old who wants to "learn to play like Daddy", she just about fell over. She didn't care that it was not a Taylor Grand Concert or another name brand, she had a guitar. I read alot about the comments stating that the guitar could not be tuned, and being a guitar enthusiast I felt differently. Here is a tip, yes if you try to do a standard tuning on the guitar, it will bow the neck backwards causing it to seem impossible to tune, however if you tune it down an octave you get several benefits. 1) the strings are easier to press which is vital for young hands just learning to play chords 2) the tension on the neck is minimal causing it not to bow and then the tuning works just fine. 3) you have a very happy child who thinks the world of you.

I will not say buyer beware, because for the price this is a good buy. If you want your child to be the next Joe Satriani and high quality is what you believe is important in a 1st guitar then you shouldn't buy this one. On the other hand, if you have intelligence you realize that you can make a minimal investment to offer your child the opportunity to learn the art of music and as they advance then you can go to your local guitar retailer and pay the higher price for the name brand guitar.

Lets start with the accessories: it brings two black stickers especially for the guitar, a guitar pick, a pitch pipe, a guitar strap, extra guitar strings and a cute guitar case. All the accessories are well made and a nice touch, but the guitar itself was a dissapointment.
It was broken at the bottom and i had to glue it back together! The sounds the guitar makes are also unpleaant even though ive tried to tune it several times. And when it got here it smelled like spray paint! The best part about it was that it was pink... and the accessories.

We got this guitar quite by accident. I put it in my wish list as a future idea for my two year old daughter, but my mother-in-law saw it in my wish list and ordered it! It will be a couple years before she can really use it, but I did get a chance to give it a good assessment.

I am an amateur guitarist, and I rebuild old electric guitars as a hobby, so I have some idea about guitar construction. I see nothing functionally wrong with this guitar, and for this price it seems like a great option for a first guitar for a young child. I have read other reviews stating that it will not stay in tune. Well, let me give a little bit of advice in that regard. NO new guitar strings stay in tune. I don't care how nice the guitar is, new strings have to be stretched out. To do so, you tune them to pitch, leave them like that for an hour or so, then stretch each string about an inch, and tune again. That should take care of most of the stretching, but you may have to stretch them again the next day. We just opened the guitar tonight, but it held tune just fine for an hour or so while I was giving it the first inspection.

As far as the function and sound of it, I see nothing really wrong at all. The fretboard is straight, the tuners feel solid, and the sound is just fine. Nobody will be performing a concert with it, but it will be a great little guitar for learning or to take camping. Since I normally play a Les Paul electric guitar, it was quite a fun novelty to tool sound with some cowboy chords on this guitar. I can see years of enjoyment coming from a very small investment. Five stars.

We were so excited to get this for our daughter for Christmas. However when we received the guitar we were very dissappointed. The guitar would not tune even with new strings it would not hold the tune. We had a horrible time trying to reach the seller and are still fighting for our refund!!! Would not suggest buying this guitar or using this seller.
