Product Description

An elegant expression of simple functional design. The Leonardo is a must-have for divers entering the sport and those who just want to dive. A single button interface makes it effortless to program Air, Nitrox and Gauge modes the first time a diver picks the computer up, and an edge-to-edge, high-definition screen gives large numerical displays in a computer that is still compact and travel-friendly. The clearly visible battery life indicator and distinct audible alarms deliver critical information as well as peace-of-mind during the dive. The Leonardo can also be fully re-set after each use, making it an excellent choice for rental departments.

I bought my Leonardo when I discovered - a couple of weeks before being due to fly out on a dive vacation - that my Oceanic Veo 250 had developed problems with its display. Faced with a $200 bill to repair the Veo (nobody actually services these things, they just replace the entire module) I decided instead to take the opportunity to buy a replacement and keep the Veo as a backup if it turned out to be still functional.

My budget meant that my choice basically came down to the Cressi Leonardo or the Suunto Zoop. I was initially skeptical of the Leonardo, as I really hadn't heard much about Cressi in general, and certainly had never seen one of their computers, but after reading reviews and watching video demonstrations of both products, I opted for the Leonardo.

After my initial dive trip with the new computer, I'm happy that I made the right decision. A key requirement for me is that my gear has to excel at its primary purpose, and for a computer, that means displaying the key information that I need at any given time, without having to dive through secondary screens (pun intended). The Leonardo passes that test with flying colors - before, during, between, and after dives, the key information I need is displayed right there on the main display, and secondary information is mostly but a single button press away.

Speaking of single button presses, of course a single button is all you get on the Leonardo. Some reviewers have taken issue with this, but I found it to be just fine.

So far I've done 10 dives with this computer. It's great. It's way better then the Zoop. The single button is awesome, easy to use, the computer functions are learned quickly and the computer is layed out in such a way that it's a pleasure to look at. The pre and post dive screens are engineered to perfection. Actually I've been diving with this computer on my wrist and the Zoop in a gauge set and I don't even look at the Zoop. There is one thing i don't like. The accent rate indicator. If I swim up 3 feet to look at a fish it starts beeping at me and I intuitively stop to look at the computer. If I raise my arm, it yells. There hasn't been a dive that indicator hasn't yelled at me and I am conservative. Other than that the machine is awesome great design.

I have been diving for about 4 years now. Take 2 or 3 dive trips a year (all to the Caribbean). This computer is setup for no decompression stop dives! On the main screen you have dive time, depth, time left with no decompression stops required, and water temp. User replaceable battery! The computer interface is a little expensive, but works well.

as a recently certified diver I was looking for a computer that was both affordable and reliable. This Cressi is both...an easy to use, very readable and so far reliable dive computer.

This was my first dive computer, and I've truly enjoyed it. While it doesn't feature air integration, it works perfectly for a newbie. I've used it with both air and nitrox in sequential dives without a problem. The interface is clear and easy to use.

This is a great diving watch that contains all the basic functions needed when diving. The computer tracks the approximately 60 dives. The dial is just a bit larger than a watch dial and shows functions in a large print which makes it very east to read underwater. My husband has this Cressi Leonardo Scuba Dive Computer Wrist Watch and loves it. This is a great watch to have on when you are diving and get carried away with seeing beautiful coral reefs and/or tropical fish and forget about time and oxygen. With just a look at the watch you know when you need to head up. I would recommend this diving watch to anyone from a beginner to pro at scuba diving.

I just started working on my divemaster certification, so I needed a good basic dive computer. I was between this computer and the Zoop by SUUNTO. Glad I bought this one, because apparently there was a recent recall on SUUNTO products including the Zoop. This computer is entry level, however, it gets all of the information that I need for my dive logs. The wrist strap of this computer is so long, I wish it were a little shorter (and I have thick wrists!). Also, I wish this had a surface interval countdown feature. I mean, maybe it has one and I haven't noticed it yet. I haven't watched the instructional DVD...I got too excited. Needless to say, I haven't noticed a feature like this while in between dives, so I'm guessing there isn't one. Looks like the eRDPML will have to suffice. The computer has a light feature and worked nicely for a night dive I went on recently. Very cool. All in all, no bells or whistles. Just basic.

Large display, very easy to use. Not many frills but fulfills all basic functions of a dive computer. One button for everything took a bit of getting used to, but after that was intuitive.
