Pros: Works with 2010 MacBook Air, but you need to install drivers first.

Cons: Drivers are on the supplied CD, and Air doesn't have a CD drive. CD is small and you can't use SuperDrive because of its slot-in load mechanism. Unless you have another external CD drive, you pretty much out of luck. Another option is to download 120Mb driver file off their website. That 120Mb file is whatever is on CD. Correct installation path is: "SY-ADA24005/Moschip/MCS7830/MCS7830_drv_Ver14/MAC10.X", look for pkg file. Once installed, you would need to reboot your system. Works like a charm after this.

Build quality is okay, not that cheap as I thought it would be. Was able to push 10Mbytes/s through this adapter. Much cheaper that buying original apple stuff.

To save everyone grief in getting this to work on Mountain Lion.

Ignore all the postings about using the AX Drivers. THEY WILL NOT WORK.

Just Google for the following: "USBCDCNET.pkg mac"

This will lead you to the USBCDCNET.pkg driver. All you need to do is:

1. Unplug the Ethernet Adapter
2. Install the driver
3. Reboot
4. Plug in the Adapter
4. All will work.

The flavor I received in the mail had the model # KY-LAN772BL. After tinkering around with drivers from the manufacturing web site (SYBAUSA) which did not work on my MBA 2011 13, I decided to pop the adapter into a windows netbook and it installed as a ASIX AX8872B driver. A google search later, found the Mac OSX Lion 10.7 driver, downloaded, installed and rebooted and my MBA recognized it.
So far, no complaints.

Pros:
Plug 'n Play
Works (slowly... read on)

Cons:
Does not have a "moschip MCS7832" chipset. Identified itself as a Kontron DM9601 Fast Ethernet Adapter on a Linux box and as a Corechip Semiconductor on Windows (!). It is unable to negotiate a High Speed USB 2.0 connection and instead falls back to a slow USB 1.1 connection. This means that your download/upload speed will top out at 6 mb/s.

The one I recieved is ever so different from the one pictured, the front of it has no indentation, the grey stripe on the side is a sticker. The usb cable's end is loose as well.

I tried installing every driver that came on the mini cd and none of them worked, it stubbornly stayed as a Corechip even though the side of it claims it is a RD9700

As its slow I will be returning it.

The adapter works on my 2012 macbook air running Lion (OS X 10.7), although I had to try three or four different drivers as the drivers on the disc didn't work. Apparently Amazon won't let me post a link in my review, so check the comments to this review where I posted links.

It's cheaply made, but what can you say when you pay less than $10? It took a while for it to recognize, and it seems half the cables I plug into it won't click in. It could just be mine, or a common issue. None of the reviews I read mentioned it. For $10 it's definitely worth it, but if you're willing to pay the $30 for the apple one, it works out of the box and it looks much nicer in my opinion. It would have saved me a good 30+ minutes. If you're like me, having this link posted for the mac drivers will save you lots of time.

I was going to give it 3 stars, but considering the awesome price I bumped it up to 4.

Works great on my Asus Transformer Pad TF300T out of the box plugged-in on the keyboard dock's USB port. I didn't need to install any drivers or other 3rd party apps.

I bought it to use with my laptop just for funsies and was really surprised that it when I plugged it into my laptop (which is running Ubuntu) it just worked, no setup required, and Speedtests.net showed that it ran the same speed with my Ethernet going through the adapter as with the Ethernet cable just going straight into my computer.

I purchased this for a friend so that she could have a Ethernet port for her Chromebook if she needed it because I got her a new use one Chromebook and it was missing the adapter. Like I said, it does the job and the price was right considering she may not ever need to use it.
