Cons: Drivers are on the supplied CD, and Air doesn't have a CD drive. CD is small and you can't use SuperDrive because of its slot-in load mechanism. Unless you have another external CD drive, you pretty much out of luck. Another option is to download 120Mb driver file off their website. That 120Mb file is whatever is on CD. Correct installation path is: "SY-ADA24005/Moschip/MCS7830/MCS7830_drv_Ver14/MAC10.X", look for pkg file. Once installed, you would need to reboot your system. Works like a charm after this.
Build quality is okay, not that cheap as I thought it would be. Was able to push 10Mbytes/s through this adapter. Much cheaper that buying original apple stuff.
Ignore all the postings about using the AX Drivers. THEY WILL NOT WORK.
Just Google for the following: "USBCDCNET.pkg mac"
This will lead you to the USBCDCNET.pkg driver. All you need to do is:
1. Unplug the Ethernet Adapter
2. Install the driver
4. Plug in the Adapter
4. All will work.
So far, no complaints.
Plug 'n Play
Works (slowly... read on)
Does not have a "moschip MCS7832" chipset. Identified itself as a Kontron DM9601 Fast Ethernet Adapter on a Linux box and as a Corechip Semiconductor on Windows (!). It is unable to negotiate a High Speed USB 2.0 connection and instead falls back to a slow USB 1.1 connection. This means that your download/upload speed will top out at 6 mb/s.
The one I recieved is ever so different from the one pictured, the front of it has no indentation, the grey stripe on the side is a sticker. The usb cable's end is loose as well.
I tried installing every driver that came on the mini cd and none of them worked, it stubbornly stayed as a Corechip even though the side of it claims it is a RD9700
As its slow I will be returning it.
It's cheaply made, but what can you say when you pay less than $10? It took a while for it to recognize, and it seems half the cables I plug into it won't click in. It could just be mine, or a common issue. None of the reviews I read mentioned it. For $10 it's definitely worth it, but if you're willing to pay the $30 for the apple one, it works out of the box and it looks much nicer in my opinion. It would have saved me a good 30+ minutes. If you're like me, having this link posted for the mac drivers will save you lots of time.
I was going to give it 3 stars, but considering the awesome price I bumped it up to 4.

Worthless. It doesn't work with my MacBook Air. Comes with a CD, though the Air does not have a CD drive. This should be mentioned in the description.Published 1 month ago by Christa T.
Won't work on my Macbook, I tried emailing company, no response. I also tried to return, but not an option. I HATE this item and wish I hadn't bought it.Published 2 months ago by Tiffpowell123

It doesn't work with android. The Ethernet cable gets stuck and the build quality feels cheap with cheap plastic.Published 4 months ago by project
