5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Doo Wop material.
The Crests had one of the best voices in Doo Wop in Johnny Maestro. His soaring vocals on "16 Candles" is truely astounding. "The Angels Listened In" is one song that should have made it but didn't for some reason. This CD gives you these two and more gems. Buy this disc and you will not be disappointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good But...
.... it only gets 3 stars because it is missing the essential Crests' first - "My Juanita" from 1958.

5.0 out of 5 stars My first CD, May 30, 2008
This review is from: The Crests - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This is the very first CD I ever bought after the LP era.
Released in 1990 this "greatest Crests" hits is a real treasure
not only because it was the first one but also because, without any
doubt, it is their best compilation available. Of the 18 hits, 11
are in stereo which is quite a gift since all of these were recorded
between 1958 and 1961. With the lead voice of Johnny Maestro this
fivesome (yes they were 5 components and not 4 as pictured on all
records: there was a female singer by the name of Patricia van Dross)
is probably the most genuine doo-wop group.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Crests review, July 17, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Crests - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
I really like this CD. it has many great classic songs on it. I only gave it four stars insted of five because I resurve the five star ratingfor only CDs on which almost every track is just out of sight, and there are a few tracks on this one that I am not so fond of. But all in all it was well it was well worth the money.

Lots of catchy tunes, and some nice ballads I spend hours with 'trouble in paradise' running thru my head.
