I was skeptical of the concept of a silicon brush. I have only used boar bristle brushes for pastry. But I needed a high temperature brush for the grill and for basting meats as they cook. The 800 degree temperature range was the deciding factor. Not only are these superior to boar bristle brushes for pastry, but they work great on the grill. They have a high holding capacity, spread the basting material evenly and are a dream to clean. As a traditionalist, I was pleasantly surprised. I think they would be a great addition to your set of kitchen utensils.

I got this because I was tired of ruining regular bristle BBQ brushes, and because I was also tired of the bristles getting into the food that I was cooking. I didn't actually expect this to work that well, but boy was I wrong. it coats the food I'm cooking with BBQ sauce or Chaka's sauce or whatever I'm using at least as well as a regular bristle brush, and I do think this is going to last for a long, long time. And it's easier to clean than a regular brush to boot.

Get one with a long handle and I believe you will love it as much as I do. Worth the price many times over.
