The reason is simple: would you like to lift a full cast-iron stockpot? It's an especially important consideration given the robust size of this pot, which is perfect for cooking huge batches of pasta or boiling lobsters.

Despite the differences in construction, this stockpot still takes full advantage of Le Creuset's reputation for vibrant colors and imaginative designs. The hard, glossy enamel that coats the pot's exterior comes in a lustrous white that matches other white Le Creuset cookware and bakeware. In addition, the steel construction heats quickly and uniformly, so you can slowly simmer or rapidly boil a variety of foods to perfection while keeping the burner temperature low. Le Creuset lids are particularly attractive, with concentric circles near the top that give the cookware a bit of extra flare.
