It has capacity for just 2-3 cups of tea, which is perfect for me, since I only need enough for 2. (Instructions say to fill it up with water below the holes on the inside of the kettle, under the spout, which doesn't leave a lot of room for water.)

(-) I was expecting a shrill piccolo sound, but this piccolo was rather weak (can sound a little wheezy at times). I like a shrill sound b/c I often forget that the water is boiling. This kettle's faint call still draws my attention though. (Not sure if it has to do with the level of water....)

(+) The handles and the knob on the lid are always comfortably cool.

I absolutely LOVE this tea kettle! It is so cute sitting on my stove top and the whistle is plenty loud to hear from the next room if you walk away while heating water for tea, coffee, etc...The only problem I encountered was with shipping because the enamel is so fragile. I had to have several replacements sent out before I received one that wasn't damaged in transit. Of course, Amazon.com corrected all of that with sending out replacements (free of charge) and paying for the return postage on the damaged tea kettles. It was just frustrating because I loved the kettle and found it sad that it was being damaged in shipping because that only meant I had to wait longer to use it. Overall, another great Le Creuset item!
