Whether quickly shifting hot cookware in the oven or moving meals from the countertop to the dining room, this Le Creuset pot holder offers a capable, convenient choice for protection, comfort, and ease-of-use. Made of 100-percent cotton terry cloth, the pot holder includes a durable cotton-canvas exterior, which comes treated with color-fast dyes that stand up to repeated washing, and a 100-percent cotton-terry-cloth lining, which conforms to British heat-penetration standards. Both the cotton terry cloth and the canvas benefit from the protection of Teflon, which effectively resists stains and spills. A flexible, non-permeable nylon barrier (sandwiched between the insulation) prevents penetration of steam, water, and grease for added protection. A pot holder without this barrier becomes damp and heat will immediately pass through (with grease, this will happen every time it gets used before it's washed). The pot holder stores compactly in a cupboard, pantry, or pullout drawer beneath the oven. Alternately, use its convenient loop for hanging on storage hooks. The pot holder measures approximately 13 by 8-1/2 by 1/2 inches.

Ouch that's hot!,

I was really excited to finally receive these potholder (already have the mitt), but now that I have them, I am REALLY dissapointed. They are okay for moving pots and pans around the stove top, but they are awful for pulling things out of the oven unless you move at lightning speed!

The ends to which I will go to decorate my teal-dominated house were reached when I paid $12 each for potholders, but I really am pleased with these. Not only is the color right, but they are really big and flexible -- I keep thinking how Julia Child would have loved them. My hands aren't particularly large, but these mitts fit just fine. A bonus is the built-in magnets. I just toss them at the refrigerator and they are stowed away! They are thin-ish, but are made of a heat-resistant material so they protect well.

I got 2 of these and they match the teal accents in my kitchen and dining nook perfectly. They are a nice large size and each has a magnet in it so you can just fling it at the fridge door and it stays there handy and ready for the next time you need to grab a hot pot handle or take something from the oven. They wash well, too.
