5.0 out of 5 stars A pleasant surprise
After reviewing LOTS of silicone cupcake pans and individual cups, I ordered two sets of these. Initially I was disappointed at the apparent flimsiness. I was expecting a stiff cup that I could place on a cookie sheet. I own a set like this, and used them often.

But after breaking out my muffin tins to try out these new floppy cups, I love them! Before I had to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Small, but nice
Amazon lists these baking cups as "approximately 3-1/5 by 3-1/5 by 3-4/5 inches". They are actually 3" wide at the top, 1-3/4" wide at the bottom, and 1-1/4" tall. If that suits your needs, great. They are well made, don't stink and bake well, but I really wanted cups bigger than these. I'll try the Casabella Jumbo Muffin Cups next and hope that Amazon's description is...

5.0 out of 5 stars A pleasant surprise, June 17, 2011

After reviewing LOTS of silicone cupcake pans and individual cups, I ordered two sets of these. Initially I was disappointed at the apparent flimsiness. I was expecting a stiff cup that I could place on a cookie sheet. I own a set like this, and used them often.

But after breaking out my muffin tins to try out these new floppy cups, I love them! Before I had to remove them before serving, because it was a fight to get the cupcakes out without mangling them. Even my 3 & 4 year old grandchildren can remove the cups, just as you would with paper, turning them inside out.

They don't do well in my dishwasher, just fly around and end up holding water or lying in the bottom. So I either hand wash them or throw them in the washer with a load of clothes. This works well with almost all silicone bakeware, except Silpats. They don't last long if you put them in the washer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cupcake BFF, September 7, 2010

Cupcakes and muffins are a frequent eat in our home. I love Le Creuset quality and style; these baking cups continue the legend. What I do NOT need is another specialty pan in my kitchen (i.e. something that takes up considerable space and is used for just one or two menu items). I always found that baking tins cluttered my cabinets and what's great about these cups is that they stack up and can be tossed into a cupboard, taking up so little space. Saves money, when I think about how many disposable wrappers I have purchased in the past; saves my peace of mind knowing that they are reusable and that they can go into the oven, freezer, dishwasher, AND microwave. I can bake them on just a standard cookie sheet (and no matter how much you fill them, they come out perfect), I no longer need to flour/grease anything, I can cool them as is and toss them into a freezer bag; I can microwave them in the morning for a warm muffin, and I can toss the used wrapper into the dishwasher. These are made in Heaven!! Only wish you could buy a multi-colour pack!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent baking cups!, July 30, 2010

As stated in the title, these baking cups are excellent!! Here are some reasons why I highly recommend them:

1) Very easy to fill them up, simply spoon in the desired amount. As with all silicone baking products, set on a hard surface such as a baking sheet or baking pan before setting in oven.
2) The muffins come out looking perfect. I filled some cups about 2/3 full and others almost to the top and in both cases they came out perfect.
3) You dont need to grease them at all! However, do let the muffins cool before removing. If you dont they will still come out ok, but if some fruit leaks to the cup than it sticks a bit. Letting them cool a bit before removing will ensure that they come out perfect.
4) Very easy to wash. Soak a few minutes in water and scrub ever so gently and voila, they clean perfectly.
5) Oven, feezer, microwave, and dishwasher safe.
6) Come in a range of colors so you can mix and match.
7) Individual cups that stack so they dont take up any storage space compared to muffin pans.
8) Note that they are very high quality, made in france of 100% silicone. This is probably why they seem to be a bit more expensive than other silicone muffin pans/cups that are not 100% silicone. I dont know what other substances are used in the ones that are not pure silicone but after reading other reviewers complaints about "strange smells" coming from these products during baking, I dont care to find out.
9) Silicone is a great alternative to non-stick teflon. There are reports claiming that Teflon emits dangerous chemicals not just if the surface is scratched but also when cooking with it at high temperatures (that are generally reached during the cooking process).

I was previously using the Le Creuset silicone muffin pan and was very pleased with it but it was discontinued. I didnt want to get these individual muffin cups at first because I thought they would be more cumbersome than a pan, but was pleasantly surprised. Not only did I not find it cumbersome, but the fact that the muffin cups are individual allows you to pick them up one by one and fill them very easily and with no mess. And as already mentioned they dont take up any storage space. Plus, the muffins came out even nicer than with the previous silicone pan.

Give them a try, I dont think you will be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for the budget, good for the environment, October 30, 2010

I use these ALL the time. They are easy to clean and store well in a little tupperware container. I have used other brands but none were as thick and solid as these are. They are so well made you don't even need a cupcake pan to put them in; they will stand up just fine on a cookie sheet. They do not need to be pre-greased as cupcakes slide right out without problems. My only warning is to make sure to train your family members to put them in the sink and NOT in the garbage like they may be used to with paper liners. (We are already short two.) :(

These are pretty and available in variety of colors (but not an assortment). More importantly, they are functional. They are the size of traditional muffin tins, save space, thick enough to hold their shape, more environmentally friendly than muffin tins, and clean very easily. The packaging says not to spray any type of non-stick spray on them. I think that might be the problem some people are having cleaning these silicone cups. I poured the muffin mix right in the cups and did not have problems with them sticking. You do have to let them cool for a few minutes. The cost is a bit more than I would have liked, but in long run I guess it is worth it.

4.0 out of 5 stars No bulky muffin pans needed and soooo cute, January 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I just got these this week and have used it only once but met all expectations and they are so darn stinkin cute. I bought these because I didn't want to have a bulky muffin pan that I needed to store and no need for greasing or flouring the pan. No sticking muffins came right out. Was absolutely able to use these without addtional support of a muffin pan. After I was done I tossed them in a bowl of soapy water for a bit and then just rinse and dry. I got these in blue and kiwi and the colors are great.

Buy these if you like your cupcakes and muffins cooked just right and removed easily from their baking cups. Less expensive in the long run for sure.

4.0 out of 5 stars As advertised!, December 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Le Creuset Silicone 6-Piece Baking-Cup Set, Cherry Red (Kitchen)
I'm a newbie to the world of baking. I was looking for some bakeware when I stumbled upon these. They just arrived an hour ago and I already baked some muffins (my first ever!) with them. I'm so happy the way muffins turned out. Plus, I'm even more glad that I don't have to buy a muffin tin(hopefully, ever!). Anyways, so I was a bit skeptical when I opened the package to find some flimsy looking cups, but I decided to give them a try and I am glad I did!
The muffins came out just right and the cups peel right off!

I took a star off (although, I say it's 4.5 out of 5!)becase, like other reviewers said, they look a little flimsy and might end up in trash if people are not informed!

Easy to use! Easy to clean! Fun color! Muffins and cornbread do not stick to these wonderful baking cups. These can be used alone on a cookie sheet or in a muffin tin.
