Like much of the Le Creuset line, these dishwasher safe round silicone hot pads have multiple uses. Covered with ridges they make excellent trivets for resting hot pots and pans on while allowing for air flow. The ridges also make these perfect to set eggs on so they don't roll off the counter. They are firm enough to use as a fan when a little air movement would come in handy. Combined with the ridges, they are flexible enough for opening jars and bending/gripping around medium to large handles.

The only drawback is that they don't work well with smaller sized handles. This makes using these pads with other Le Creuset product like the pate terrine or the au gratins pretty much useless when it comes to grabbing and moving them.

PROS:

CONS:
Cannot effectively grab smaller sized handles

I love these hot pads. They are the perfect size and shape and thickness. I used to have a square silicone hot pad, but it was too thick and too awkward and I ended up never using it. I would keep getting one of the edges smeared into the food. These cool tool hot pads work really well at not burning your hands, easy to handle, and they work great to protect your table when you have hot dishes. With big casseroles, just put one underneath each end. Great colors too, I have them all. The kiwi and Caribbean colors especially look pastel-brighter online. They are actually a darker more bold color. I'm very happy with them.
