5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable Performance !
I was skeptical at first when I saw this product in stores. I had bought a competitor's, square potholder and I found it heated up really quickly when I used it as a potholder. But if Le Creuset made something similar, I thought the quality would be better. It was!

I have been amazed at how well it works around the kitchen and the whole house! I can hold a...

3.0 out of 5 stars Smaller than expected
It may have been completely my fault for not looking further into it, but these were much smaller than I expected them to be. They were not what I was originally looking for, it was simply something I added to my order to go with a Le Creuset whisk I was purchasing as a gift. I figured they would be about the size of pot holders, but a bit more heat resistant due to the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable Performance !, September 23, 2004
This review is from: Le Creuset Silicone Set of 2 Mini-Cool Tool, White (Kitchen)

I can hold a heated pot/roast from my kitchen to screened-in porch with no fear it would heat up quickly. I even put it under my dog's bowl so it doesn't slide around when she eats from it. I put it under pot plants inside so they stay in place and not scratch my floor. And putting it in the dishwashwer for easy clean-up is the best!

I have been very satisfied with this product. I bought 4 more just so I can have them around the house and in the garage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Size, August 26, 2009

I found these to be the best size for removing hot pans from the oven. Like how many times have I scorched a cloth potholder or set one on fire reaching for a pan under the broiler! These are just big enough to pull the pan out or to lift a pot lid. No excess, just 4 1/8 inches wide. The yellow and green are nice bright colors. Made in the US.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love These!, September 13, 2009

I originally got these to use to place hot pans on the table but there are so many other uses for them! We'll probably use these smaller ones as pot holders, coasters and to help open stubborn jars the most.

They were not what I was originally looking for, it was simply something I added to my order to go with a Le Creuset whisk I was purchasing as a gift. I figured they would be about the size of pot holders, but a bit more heat resistant due to the silicone. They are in fact great for dealing with heat, but they are very small so they may not protect your counter from a large pot or pan that you set on it.

Just received these this week. Made french onion soup and did not burn myself when I removed hot crocks from the oven!. I love that I had excellent control when removing something small from the oven and am looking forward to using them for various uses. I also bought the bigger size, great purchase.

Not much to say here. It does the job. I'm a college student and these are useful for just about any "cooking."

We already have a large (8" diameter) matching Le Creuset pad, and these two smaller pads are an ideal complement - just right for smaller pots and pans and even a cup of hot coffee on my wooden desk top.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well-built, but not that grippy., May 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These are pretty nice for what they are. I recently bought a lap desk for use in my college dorm, and these keep things from sliding around on it- plates, drinks, my computer, etc. They do this well. I haven't used them much as potholders and would be a little nervous to, given their size. They're only about the size of my palm. It might depend on what I wanted to carry. They also pull double-duty as rather expensive coasters.

I was hoping I could use them to help open stubborn jars or bottles, but the texture isn't quite right. I defaulted to a pair of cheap, textured, rubbery garden gloves for that purpose.

Bottom line: I think they're very versatile little things. How well they work depends on what you want to use them for. As grippy little trivets or coasters, they're great. As potholders, they're probably fine, if you're dexterous. As jar-openers, they don't seem to hold up, but maybe I'm just a weakling. If you buy them, you'll probably find something to use them for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Handier than Expected!, May 15, 2011

I bought a pair of these about a year ago
as trivets for my Japanese hobnail teapot.
To my surprise, as the year progressed,
I discovered that these were handy as
pot grips. I have expensive grips
by a Big Name Chef, the kind that you
have to insert on the side handles.
Perhaps because my cookware is by Le Creuset,
the fit of the other style grips was
not perfect. Too, I could not leave
the grips on a long time. They heated
up in five or ten minutes. In contrast,
these mini silicone discs are easy
to manipulate,then put aside.
I have bought a second pair in a cheery
color, and am giving the Batalis to
a thrift shop. Someone will have
pots where they grip better.
This is a versatile product.
I like it very much!

Fantastic look, very useful for picking up small pots and pans. Wish it was an inch larger in diameter for more functionality.
