Amazon.com Product Description

Sleek and stylish, this 14-inch oval dish by Le Creuset brings both beauty and versatility to any kitchen collection. The dish, which holds 3-3/4 quarts and measures approximately 10-4/5 by 16 by 2-1/2 inches overall, provides a generous capacity for cooking a large cut of meat or several side-dish portions. Thoughtfully designed, the unit's straight walls facilitate easy scooping, while its flared rim allows moisture and liquids to bubble without spilling.

Made from durable stoneware, the dish features a hard-wearing, impermeable finish fired at temperatures as high as 2192 degrees F. With a porosity level of less than 1 percent, the dish blocks moisture absorption, so there's no chipping, cracking, crazing, or rippling along the interior to worry about. Its non-porous construction also resists odors, scratching, and staining for hygienic use and optimal cooking performance. Even more, its high-quality enamel protects against metal marks and other damage, which means it's safe for cutting on with knives. Best of all, the colorful glaze on the exterior makes the dish fun to mix and match with other coordinating Le Creuset pieces (sold separately), while a neutral-colored glaze on the inside offers a pleasing contrast and an optimal palette for food presentation. And thanks to its unmatched thermal resistance from -65 degrees F to 500 degrees F, the dish moves gracefully from the microwave or oven (or under the broiler) to the table for serving to the refrigerator or freezer for storing leftovers. Sure-grip side handles facilitate steady transport, and the dish cleans up easily by hand or in the dishwasher.

3.0 out of 5 stars Le Creuset, January 7, 2008
This dish cleaned up very well after its first use. While I was using it the second time, it broke in the oven while using the broiler. Customer service was very accommodating though, and is sending another in the mail (you have to mail them the broken pieces).

1.0 out of 5 stars Cracked in half while in the oven, July 2, 2011
This review is from: Le Creuset Stoneware 14-Inch Oval Baking Dish, Kiwi (Kitchen)
I will make this short and sweet. I was baking some chicken in the oven and after about 30 minutes I here this sharp pop come from the oven. The dish cracked in half. First time I have every seen this happen in the oven. I have seen this occur with pyrex when you accidentally splash water on it when it is hot. This is not the situation here, it was just sitting in the oven cooking at 350.

5.0 out of 5 stars a lot of gratin, August 21, 2007

This is a fine piece for making gratins. The contents cook evenly and brown, without unevenness or burning. It's large enough to serve a crowd.
