5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, Healthy, Cookware
I was looking for good solid cookware that would allow me to bake salmon & vegetables (instead of wrapping in aluminum foil). The deep dish washes out clean, and, when covered, keep the food moist and delicious. I sometimes use a lid from another piece of Le Creuset cookware to cover this pan and turn it into a clay oven of sorts. I am very pleased...

3.0 out of 5 stars Questioning authenticity of Le Creuset loaf pan
I bought the 1.05 Le Creuset loaf pan and it said "made in Thailand" on a stick- on label. Would someone tell me if this is an Asian fake or is Le C outsourcing their products too? Would the enamel be lead free?

THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR LE CREUSET'S ABILITY TO DISTRIBUTE HEAT EVENLY, WITHSTAND HEAT WITHOUT STAINING, AND TO TOP IT OFF, IT'S SOOOO EASY TO CLEAN! WORTH EVERY PENNY.

5.0 out of 5 stars Le Creuset Loaf Pan - YUM, February 17, 2008

I bake alot of homemade bread. I prefer the bottom as wide as the top, but these make a delicious loaf of yeast bread. Nice, crisp crust and tender in the middle. I haven't tried them for banana or other sweet breads yet, but the size and shape are perfect.

I was wary about buying these pans because they seemed very expensive, but I own other Le Creuset cookware so I thought I'd give them a try. When they arrived I was afraid they wouldn't bake my bread loaves very well because they are so thick -- I wondered if the heat would penetrate sufficiently. When the bread came out of the oven all fears fled. These pans are so wonderful and well worth the price. The bread crust comes out nicely brown and a little bit crisp while the interior is perfect. I've also used the pans for meatloaf and quick bread. The results are the same -- food baked to perfection. Thanks, Le Creuset!

3.0 out of 5 stars Thought they would be cast iron like the other le creuset products :(, February 17, 2011

When I opened my package and I saw the words LE CREUSET STONEWARE written on the label of my loaf pans, I was horrified. If I wanted stoneware I would have bought stoneware. I purchased these because of the le creuset exceptional reputation for quality and i have to say that I wasn't jumping for joy when I received these. I bought a pair. They are beautifully made by all means but in my opinion stoneware has a limited lifespan it can be overtime or suddenly that any stoneware pan will gave way. Although when I read the instructions i was happy that they can go under the broiler. That's why I kept them. They seem to be great in the oven but I was expecting that anyway. I love the red color because that's the accent color that I currently use in my kitchen. Overall I'm pleased with the pans I just think that it should have been cast iron like the other le creuset cooking utensils, especially when they want $29.00 plus tax for each pan. Maybe there is some rule against using cast iron bakeware but until I find that out I stand firmly by my opinion. I rated them 3 stars simply because I overpayed for a set of stoneware dishes that had the famous le creuset name on them. I could have gotten 3 or 4 coringware stoneware dishes with the $60 plus dollars that I paid for these loaf pans, if I wanted some STONEWARE !.
