4.0 out of 5 stars Cute as a button, and perfect for what they were INTENDED for
Just wanted to counter balance the bad review by someone who must not have done the math when they read the product description. And since I found her review on multiple petite casseroles she made the mistake more than once. So, again I am putting in my $0.02.

2.0 out of 5 stars Beware of lower-priced seconds
I've been wanting a Petite Blueberry Casserole, but $25 seemed too much for a purchase that's basically frivolous. Then one day I noticed the price was marked down to $19.89 for an unknown reason. The temptation was too great, and I bought one. When it arrived, it was actually larger than I expected after reading some of the reviews. (I've posted two photos of the...

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute as a button, and perfect for what they were INTENDED for, October 30, 2007
This review is from: Le Creuset Stoneware Petite Blueberry Casserole (Kitchen)
Just wanted to counter balance the bad review by someone who must not have done the math when they read the product description. And since I found her review on multiple petite casseroles she made the mistake more than once. So, again I am putting in my $0.02.

I love my petite casseroles, I have half a dozen of them. They are perfect for baking individual entrees or desserts for people. Even for making lots of custom hot dips. With these you can cater to what people want in terms of types of fruit or vegetables, how much butter, what kind of sugar or spices. You just can't do that in a large dish.

They hold up to lots of washing and even being dropped without so much as a scratch or any fading. I love my petite casseroles. Just be sure you know what to expect when buying something this size... You can't feed a family from one of these. So don't complain cause even the description of the item says they are perfect for dips for parties, hence the smallness :)

4.0 out of 5 stars No cast iron in this berry, September 24, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Le Creuset Stoneware Petite Blueberry Casserole (Kitchen)
I was mostly pleased but a little surprised when my blueberry Le Creuset mini-casserole arrived. It's as cute as a bug, totally adorable -- though I haven't figured out what I'll use it for, I just like it. However, I'd somehow assumed it would have a cast-iron core with the ceramic as an overlay, as the big le Creuset cook-pots have. BAAMP! Nope! If I'd read the description more carefully, I'd have realized this. You can even put this blueberry into the microwave, because there is NO CAST IRON inside. It's too small and funny-shaped to use on the stove, so maybe I should have realized?
I can imagine a kitchen with a row of these crocks lined up on a high shelf or whatever (the punkin, the strawberry, etc. etc.) just for cuteness' sake! So could the designers at Le Creuset, I suppose.

(I've posted two photos of the casserole next to a soda can so you can get a better idea of the actual size.) But what I really noticed was the odd color band around the center of the casserole. The official photos indicate the center is supposed to be a lighter shade than the blueberry color on the top and bottom, but this was so light that the color could best be described as lilac. I hadn't seen a blueberry casserole in person before this, so I didn't know if it's supposed to be that color. But it doesn't look attractive at all. There was also a blemish that looked like a fingerprint pressed into the surface of the lid. I have returned the casserole for a refund. Interestingly, it wasn't eligible for a replacement -- only a refund. Now, I can't say for certain that there's a relationship between the reduced price and the reduced quality, but now I know that if something that's never been on sale is suddenly on sale, this buyer will beware.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blueberry casserole, January 18, 2008

This is the most adorable little casserole. It's about the size of a large softball. Very blue. It bakes and cleans up well. I've used it to make single servings of many dishes but I love to roast garlic in it. A good price for this line of cookware. I would recommend it for anyone who likes to cook. I'm sure you'll come up with some very creative uses for it too. And it looks great sitting on the counter top!

Wasn't real sure what I would use this tiny little casserole for but I like blueberries and decided to get it to put in my kitchen. I now use it to keep sea salt in. As with all LeCreuset products, it's very well made. I'm very delighted with my purchase! :-)

2.0 out of 5 stars Cute but frustrating, January 13, 2009
This review is from: Le Creuset Stoneware Petite Blueberry Casserole (Kitchen)
Le Creuset Stoneware Petite Blueberry Casserole is absolutely adorable, but I baked apples in them and was very frustrated with trying to get the "lids" off and on for basting/checking for doneness, especially when they are hot. They baked my apples wonderfully, they were delicious, but I am simply not sure whether to use them again or not, because in the process I burned my wrist in the oven and chipped the top of the "blueberry" when I jerked my arm back.So sad ; )

3.0 out of 5 stars very cute, perfect for soup and dessert, December 4, 2008

This is a very cute petite casserole. I got this on sale for about $16 the other day and am happy with it. (I will explain why I gave it only 3 stars)

I have not used it just yet, but I will probably make some personal size desserts for my husband and he'll love it!

As others have mentioned, it is made in Thailand. I have not seen ones that are made in France so I have nothing to compare it with, but I've purchased Le Creuset remekins that are from Thailand and I believe they are genuine.

The color is not solid blue as shown in the picture, but still cute.

The reason why I gave it 3 stars is because of the weight of it. To be honest, if not because of the sale and the 4 for 3 promotion, I don't think I will purchase this item at this price. It is cute, but the stoneware itself does not feel very solid. I don't think I will put it to the test but its light weight (not super light but just not very heavy) makes me feel that it could chip off or crack from minor accidents in the kitchen. (For those of you who may have already put it to the test, I'd love to hear how your blueberry performed.)

I purchased this mainly for its look so I have no complain. The 3 stars is for general reference in case you want a really sturdy item out of it.

I uploaded a few pictures of it under the product picture in case you want to see the color and size.

I bought a series of these petite "casseroles" as kitchen decor. Whether I ever use them for food preparation remains to be seen. They are so adorable, I don't care if they are practical! I can see using them for service pieces, but I mainly plan to enjoy the color and whimsy they add to my kitchen.

This is about the size of a sugar bowl and is really cute! It was a little pricey for the size, but everyone thinks it is adorable. Very nice piece. :)

this was an added extra, so I did not really care about it. However, my wife has been using it to bake many delectable dishes for my son. Nice surprise!
