Anyone can put this charming spice jar to good use. The smallest of three sizes offered by Le Creuset, the jar holds up to seven ounces of sea salt, dried herbs, tea, and plenty of other treasures, both edible and inedible. A silicone seal on the lid helps keep the contents fresh. Made in France of high-fired stoneware with a non-porous enamel glaze, the jar won't absorb odors or flavors, resists staining and chipping, and is dishwasher-safe. A choice of colors embellishes the exterior of the jar and lid in a graded fashion, from dark to light. The interior is glazed a neutral tone.

I love these guys for kosher salt in the white one and I also have an older brown one that isn't available anymore. It holds coarse pepper. They are just the right size and have a good seal.

I bought this originally to be my new salt-crock ... but I was finding it annoying that I had to fill this thing up constantly with salt (and I don't cook with a Tbl of salt each night) ... so I quickly ordered the 14 ounce version of this exact color and now I use this one for pepper. LOVE IT!!!
