As part of Le Creuset's line of stoneware, the unit features a hard-wearing, impermeable finish fired at temperatures as high as 2192 degrees F. With a porosity level of less than 1 percent, it blocks moisture absorption, which can lead to cracking, crazing, and rippling along the interior. Its non-porous construction also resists odors, scratching, and staining for hygienic use and optimal performance. Even more, its high-quality enamel protects against metal marks and other damage, which means it's safe to use with knives. Best of all, the glaze on the exterior makes it fun to mix and match with other coordinating Le Creuset pieces (sold separately), while a neutral-colored glaze on the inside offers an optimal palette for food presentation. I know there are a few people who are not thrilled about the size of the dish, but I found it to be perfect. It is just the right size to help the eye with portion control.

Also, I've used it as a serving dish, for example, to serve humus at a table sized for four. Several things can be done with this shape and size of dish. Enjoy !

The only complaint (and it's not a big deal) is the size. I thought it would be larger. However, that being said it's not tiny. It's still a pretty good size. I use it as a serving dish and it works out great. The colours are excellent (got one in yellow and blue). It was delivered on time and their was no damage to the dish.

These are the greatest dishes! They are fantastic for presentation at table. They come in all the Le Creuset colors! They are delivered with efficient time and packing. The price from Amazon is remarkably less than gourmet stores.
