I first heard Meaghan Smith at a small and local music venue called the Birchmere, which is known for hosting a variety of performers, but always fantastic ones. She was the opener for another act but she was by far the highlight. She has a sound that reminds me old records my grandma has. The music is very 1940s with a simple piano, with highlights of clarinet and a harp. Meaghan Smith's voice is just as beautiful and unique as her accompanying music. There are only 4 songs on this cd, so downloading the digital version really is the best way to get your money's worth. But, WOW is it worth it! I can't WAIT until she comes out with more music, as it really is one-of-a-kind. Note: if you like this unique "old-time" mixed with modern sound, check out Bitter:sweet as well.

Meaghan Smith will be the story of 2010. She sings a timeless genre with such purityyou just have to admit she is without peer. Gifted beyond words. Any one who takes time to listen can't wait to see what she creates next.

I really liked the unique sound of this group. Unfortunately the disc was messed up and I had to send it back.

I didnt' realize this had only four songs on it when I bought it. I really enjoyed the first album I bought, which was for my daughter, who loves Frank Sinatra. I grabbed the first one a few times to enjoy it so when this second piece was available I bought. It was to be a special gift before she left for college. Little did I know the number of pieces was so sparse. I will look more closely next time before I purchase, but I enjoyed this music immensely.
