I love my Cricut, but this spatula really isn't worth the money. It was to designed to help you remove what's been cut off of the Cricut mats, and while it does help you do this, it also picks up a lot of the sticky adhesive from the mats, which can then interfere with the effectiveness of the tool for future cuts. I tried to clean it with finger nail polish remover (what I always use to clean stickers off anything) but it never really was like new again. Additionally, with normal use, the large spatula area became bent. I prefer my Creative Memories tool, that has much less surface area and does a better job of picking up my beautiful letters from the mats. I kind of want to give this item a low review simply because I do not believe it should be extra. It should be something that comes with the machine.. But that has nothing to do with its purpose or function. I use mine all of the time. If I am cutting I am using the spatula to remove my cuts. It always works great and when I use it I rarely tear anything.
For thin papers or extra sticky mats this is a must!

This spatula is a must have for the cricut. I can do without all of the other tools sold in their tool kit, as long as I have this one that only costs less than $5. Buy it, you will be glad you did!

For those of you who don't know, this tool allows you to remove cut pieces from the sticky cricut mat with more ease than any other tool I have tried.

I agree with another reviewer who stated this should be included with the Cricut. It is a necessary tool and prevents tears, particularly when cutting intricate shapes. It is also awesome for scooping up little cutouts that would otherwise be so stuck to the mat they'd be mangled. When I am cutting, I get annoyed trying to get cutouts off the mat without this tool- usually resorting to bending the mat and trying to catch an edge with a fingernail.

While I think this is a necessary cricut accessory, I also appreciate that it is sold seperately as I have purchased several. When friends come to craft or my kids use the Cricut with me, it is nice to have several on hand.

The spatula functions very well and the original one I bought still looks and works like new even after a couple years of use and abuse. This is not a great tool to clean leftover scraps off the mats, however. It is time consuming to pick individual pieces off the mat and cricut makes a triangular scraper tool that is much better for getting the little bits left behind.

Yes, Cricut is waging a war of attrition against the bank accounts of their loyal customers- but I've come to accept that its par for the course in the scrapbooking/crafting industry. Still, I do love my Cricut as it allows me to take my projects to a whole other level and I get a ton of use and satisfaction out of it making things for my kids classes, cards, invitations. If you have made the investment in a Cricut, it seems like it is more than worthwhile to drop a few dollars here and there for accessories that improve functionality and efficiency. This is a must have tool if you have a cricut.

I have the Cricut machine and this was essential to own as well. It is just what it says it is. It's used as a spatula to remove your work from the mat. It is great for scraping up those tiny projects. I recommend it to anyone with a Cricut machine of any kind. I agree with other reviewers, that this should come with all of the Cricut machines, but I can't fault the tool itself for that, so it earns 5 stars from me=)

This is a must-have product if you purchase one of the Cricut cutters. The mats ARE sticky and if you try to pull the remaining paper up with your hands it will curl up. I'm not sure how you would get your shapes/letters up without it (dental floss, maybe?).

Well worth the cost!

Cricut 29-0099 Spatula Tool

I am an avid scrapbooker and was thrilled when I finally got my cricut machine..I was so disappointed because I had so much trouble getting the cutouts off the pad..well, dissappointed no more! Once I got my indispensible spatula it was a breeze, so go for it, you won't be sorry!!

We have the cricut toolkit, but we don't use it that much. This, on the otherhand, gets used with nearly everything we make on the Cricut. I cannot figure out why this isn't included with the machine. At the very least, it would be hand for those of us with the toolkit if it fit in there with the other tools. For those of you who don't have the toolkit, skip it and just buy this. You won't be sorry.

This little tool is all I hoped it would be. Just one word of advice in ordering any product online: make sure you realize how much it will cost including shipping and handling, so you don't get any rude surprises.

I don't know how I scrapbooked and used my cricut without this. I used to use my nail to get the paper of my tacky board, then my nail could scratch the board and I would have a tacky feeling nail. Plus, fingernails don't work very good to scrap off little pieces. This thing made it so much easier. its thin and get the paper off without damaging the tacky sheet or the paper, and is able to get even the smallest pieces of paper off. Anyone who has a cricut needs this.
