Great tools for the avid scrapper/cardmaker,
This review is from: Cricut Design Studio & Jukebox Combo
First - the Jukebox: It was so simple to set up and get running. Right now I have exactly 6 cartridges (I just can't spend that kind of money!) so they all fit nicely into the one Jukebox. I don't bother to put the top on the storage area since I'm always taking the books and keyboard covers out. The Jukebox works wonderfully with the Design Studio. It really wouldn't be much of a time saver to use the Design Studio if you have to keep changing out cartridges. They work beautifully together.
Now - Design Studio: The product itself it great. It's a huge time and paper saver when it comes to cutting layers (shadow & front) or cutting multi-color shapes (like Paper Dolls). Lay everything out on the screen in Design studio, put appropriately sized scraps on the mat and cut everything out at once! The program is very simple to use, but take a moment to play and learn what it does before cutting out something special. This software will only allow you to cut Cricut Cartridges, it will not let you cut your own fonts or shapes. I realize ProvoCraft is out to make a buck here, but with Sure Cuts A Lot and Making the Cut on the scene now, I'm hoping that will change. I have to say activating the Design Studio (DS) software was a big pain in the butt. I tried to do it online and it said it couldn't find any internet access, even though I was surfing the web just fine. Even after my computer savvy husband turned off the virus scanner and firewall, it still didn't work. It turns out that it wasn't an internet problem at all, but that I had a bad serial number. I found this out after waiting on hold with ProvoCraft for over AN HOUR AND A HALF (I think they seriously underestimated how many folks they would need in the call center the week after Christmas). Apparently a bunch of DS had been sent out with bad serial numbers and the problem can only be fixed by contacting technical support and getting a new number. Once I finally got the correct number, I was able to activate online, update my Cricut and get to cutting! Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase and it cost significantly less than the new Gypsy, which does the same thing. Yes, it's more to lug around (Jukebox & laptop), but with the money I saved, I could go buy a few more cartridges!

I absolutely love both of these items. It opens up a whole new world for the cricut expression. Would recommend to those of you that don't want to pay the price for the gypsy.

kinda bulky,

My mom has a ton of Cricut items so I purchased this as a Mother's Day present to make cartridge changes a little less time-consuming.
Jukebox: The idea behind this item is great, but it seems unnecessarily large for what it does. Yes the built in storage is nice, but I'm pretty sure most "hard core" crafters have boxes or drawers or totes already designated for storing cartridges. It would be nicer if this was just simply a dock (basically the top half of the item), since it would fit on a desk or table much more neatly. As far as I know, she hasnt had any trouble with the unit, and it seems to make switching between cartridges much more hassle-free. Design studio: I tried this myself and found it to be quite intuitive, although I know my mom had to call tech support a few times to sort out some issues (I dont know specifically what they were off hand). The tech people are very friendly and helpful though, so she didnt mind the little bit of inconvenience. She pretty much exclusively uses the software for designs rather than the machine itself, and it has made her products (she makes cards, favors, and other small gifts) are much more intricate than before, with less effort on her part. This is actually one of the cheapest cricut accessories (about the same as a cartridge) and I'd say a must have for anyone who wants to get the most out of their machine.
