Cricut Personal Electronic Cutter, Bundle With 2 Cartridges

I bought this product on a deal and a whim. I didn't expect to think it was SO COOL!!! I've looked at many "scrapbooking" gadgets and hate the commercialism that goes with a craft that started as a leftover way to archive. I've been "papercrafting" for decades, way before the modern "scrapbook" and "papercraft" fads. But the more I saw online about this machine, the more I was intrigued. So, once it arrived I unpacked it and within a half hour I was turning out letters. There is a tiny learning curve that amounts to calibrating the machine for what you want it to do, but the machine is intuitive, useful, versatile and fast. I can't believe how quickly it turns out phrases that would have taken me days to cut out by hand.

I love it, I'm hooked, my only complaint is that the supplies and cartridges are so expensive that the expendable and disposable nature makes me have to be extremely cautious about what I choose to purchase. As an artist I do not have the disposable income to make mistakes. But I love this Cricut... chirp!

I received my Cricut for a Christmas gift 2 yrs ago and have tried using it several times since then for many things and I just don't care for it. You have to use fairly thin or lightweight cardstock to get it to cut all the way through and lift crisp and cleanly from the sticky paper, even after increasing the depth of the cutter blade, etc. I keep going back to it thinking that the more I play with it and get used to it, the more I'll like it. It's just not happening and it just sits in the corner of my craft room, unused. I'm going to try to sell it. It's a shame, too, because I have 6 cartridges to go with it. I really like my other die cut machines better, especially my Wizard, which not only cuts, but embosses, as well. My mother-in-law has the Cricut, too, and loves it. Seems to be a personal choice. I would recommend you try using a friend's or one at a scrapbook store before you put out the money to be sure you're going to like it and use it.

I purchased this because I wanted to use it with the $75 Sure Cuts Alot software. The reason I wanted to use it with this software is because you can download any image, font, etc from the internet to use without any additional cost to you and you can also cut smaller than the 1" the machine with cartridge will allow. So, this machine along with the Sure Cuts Alot software, I recommend, but not the machine alone, only because of how pricey the cartridges are.
Now for my complaints...The Cricut Create and Expression machines will allow you to cut smaller than 1" with the cartridges, but for some reason, this machine doesn't. The other complaint I have about these machines is that the mats lose their stick, pretty quickly. I've read about ways to make them sticky again, but have yet to try them.
Also, you really need the spatula with this machine. It would be really hard to get the project off of the mat without it. The Cricut tool kit is also very nice to have, but not as important as the spatula. I think the machine should come with a spatula, but it doesn't, so you should really invest in that as well. I love this cutter. I have been able to use it for my sons school projects as well as my scrapbooing projects.

The Cricut is one machine that I (the wife) has wanted for along time.
I create greeting cards and knew that the machine worked wonders with shapes. I received a Cricut for my birthday on 2/1/09. My husband did so good. The machine is great and I love it. Sometimes I have a problem with the paper wrinkling up while cutting. Don't know why that happens.
Other than that, I love it.

I really like my new crikut machine. I was going to purchase the expressions but realized that the regular crikut machine will basically do the same thing that I can with the expressions. Like I said at the beginning I love my machine and I would not regret purchasing this machine..I would strongly suggest thay every household own one... The Cricut Personal Cutting Machine is a very easy to use die cutter. It is a great choice for making crafts, signs, and scrapbooking much more professional looking.

While not inexpensive, it has been a good investment for us since we use it to make letters for signs in our shop. An added "bonus" for us is that it is handy to use to make letters for our kids sceince fair display boards.

We have not had any issues cutting heavy card stock and have been pleased with the overall performance of the cutter. It is a good idea to read the manual.

Bought this for my mom and she loves it. So many things she can do with it. Its nice that you don't have to use your computer to run it. Shes very happy with it.

I bought this during the Lightning Deals and got a great deal but my girlfriend had to show me how to use it. It's definitely great instead of cutting out individual letters but it takes a while to get the jist of how to use it. Trying to get the end lined up so it cuts right can be difficult.

I did use it to put names on Christmas packages and it looked great! It only took a fraction of the time as I wouldn't have even attempted this had it not been my Cricut. Cartridges are expensive too!

it keeps my grandchildren busy i cut they paste keeps them learning and away from the tv for a while
